Dyson is a global company with market leading products in Floorcare, Haircare and Environmental product categories. We have ambition and plans to enter new areas and continue our rapid growth. The Group Finance team provides Dyson with overall financial planning, reporting & analysis capabilities, owns the systems that support these activities across the Dyson Group and provides finance business partnering to Group Functions like Global IT and Estates.

About The Role

The purpose of the role is to ensure the Hair Care Category has effective financial planning and spend control across operating expenses of Category RDD and related Manufacturing capex budgets. The role holder will also be expected to provide finance leadership on cross-functional projects related to the role scope and to contribute to/lead finance training for non-finance colleagues.

Main responsibilities include:

• Working with Category leadership teams, Design Managers and Operations leadership team for Hair Care, providing planning and controlling expertise for operating and manufacturing capital expenditure.
• Provide analysis and insight into organisational investment performance compared to budget, forecasts and long term plans.
• Business partnering with budget holders to steer the spend to achieve targets. Identify opportunities and actions to optimise spending.
• Budgeting and forecasting for operating and manufacturing capital expenditure.
• Providing input for new product business cases relating to Capital expenditures while working with Manufacturing and operations team leadership.
• Lead and contribute to organisational financial acumen through identifying finance knowledge requirements of non-finance stakeholders and providing access to relevant training.

About You

• Previous work experience
  • Minimum 6 years of relevant experience
  • Applicants should be able to provide previous examples of using financial information to support decision making by non-finance stakeholders.
  • Ability to partner and challenge non-finance colleagues to explore opportunities to be more efficient in spending
  • Ideally, applicants should be able to demonstrate experience of budget planning and control in a complex organisation.
• Specific technical qualifications/exposure
  • A globally recognised professional accounting qualification, e.g. ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA or MBA etc.
  • Excellent analytical ability and proficiency with Microsoft Excel.

  • Communications & Influence: the ability to communicate complex financial information simply, with impact, to non-financial stakeholders.
