Department Description: The Finance Service Unit ("DFIN") coordinates the Finance Line and ensures the Group's financial production, steering and management via a number of complementary missions: Department Description: The Finance Service Unit ('DFIN') coordinates the Finance Line and ensures the Group's financial production, steering and management via a number of complementary missions: - support business lines, service units and general management in terms of financial and strategic steering - ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and obligations - ensure monitoring and steering of P&L and scarce resources performance (capital, liquidity, balance sheet) in keeping within strategic objectives and in compliance with regulatory obligations - ensure regulatory watch on topics pertaining to scarce resources, accounting and finance. The finance team in Singapore manages 5 entities in South-east Asia. We are looking for an experienced finance professional to be part of the team, reporting to CFO. The main responsibilities include: Financial accounting & controls - Oversee the month-end closing to ensure smooth completion. Monitor the action plan from other departments during closing to ensure issues are resolved before end of closing to avoid any financial impact. - Prepare routine accounting journals eg tax provision, FX selldown - Perform in-depth variance analysis and prepare reports for local management - Prepare control documentation for accounts owned by Finance to ensure all account balances are substantiated. Review the reconciliations and account substantiation documentation provided by other departments, challenge in case of anomalies and proactively follow up on the status of action plan. - Prepare audit schedules to facilitate annual external audit - Keep a mindset of continuous improvement - identify any potential control loopholes and implement action plan. Regulatory reporting - Prepare monthly and quarterly regulatory reports such as Risk Base Capital Reports, Credit facility, Income and expenditure Reports - Act as back up for daily RBC ratios computation and monitoring Tax - Prepare relevant tax calculations for annual corporate income tax computation - Ensure compliance with GST regulations and prepare GST returns Transversal topics - Support the CFO for any ad hoc or new initiatives/ ideas to improve the deliverables of the Finance team which includes digitalization through analytics tools or automation PROFILE ACADEMIC BACKGROUND AND CERTIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE . University degree in Accountancy. CPA preferred. . Minimum 6 years of relevant experience in banking industry . Prior experience in the finance department of brokerage/clearing business would be an advantage. . Experience in handling corporate income tax and GST matters . Prior external audit experience in financial sector would be an advantage OPERATIONAL SKILLS . Strong analytical skills with a keen eye for details . Proficient in Microsoft Office applications. Advance knowledge of Microsoft Excel is preferred . Experience in programming or basic coding including but not limited to VBA, Python, SQL or relevant vendor solution like PowerBI and Alteryx .
