Join Our Finance Team as a Financial Accountant!

Are you an experienced finance professional ready to take ownership of complex accounting processes across multiple jurisdictions? We're looking for a Financial Accountant to join our high-performing APAC Finance team and support our Insurance and Reinsurance operations in Singapore and China.

What You'll Be Doing:

Own the ledgers:

Manage and reconcile financial transactions for Singapore and China branches in line with US GAAP and local regulatory requirements.

Deliver insights:

Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, and explain variances to budget.

Support compliance:

Assist with MAS, tax, and Schedule P reporting across jurisdictions.

Strengthen controls:

Maintain robust financial controls and support SOX compliance.

Collaborate globally:

Work with regional and local teams to ensure financial reporting integrity.

Drive improvement:

Identify and implement process enhancements across finance operations.

Be a trusted partner:

Support ad hoc projects and assist the CFO as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Accounting

Prepare and record branch financial transactions. Reconcile balance sheet and profit/loss accounts monthly. Manage investment accounting and month-end close activities. Prepare quarterly and annual US financial reports.

Regulatory Compliance

Support MAS and tax reporting requirements. Assist with Schedule P submissions and SOX documentation.

Other Duties

Review and approve new brokers and cedants. Contribute to finance process improvements and cross-functional projects. Provide backup support to the APAC Finance Shared Services team.

What We're Looking For

We're seeking a seasoned Financial Accountant with a strong background in insurance or reinsurance. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, analytical, and confident working across jurisdictions and systems. You'll be comfortable juggling deadlines, collaborating with diverse teams, and driving continuous improvement.

Essential:

Bachelor of Business (or equivalent) in Accounting ACCA, CA, or CPA qualified Minimum 10 years' experience in financial reporting within insurance or reinsurance Advanced Excel skills including macros Proficient in financial systems (PeopleSoft desirable) Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills Ability to meet tight deadlines and manage competing priorities

Desirable:

Experience with SOX and US GAAP * Innovative mindset and a passion for process improvement
