Your New Role

We are seeking a Financial Accountant (Project Accountant) to join our Finance team. In this role, you will perform professional accounting work, including compiling, consolidating, and analysing financial data. You will be responsible for ensuring compliance with financial laws, requirements, and regulations, as well as implementing financial controls and delivering high-quality financial reporting.

What You Can Expect from the Role

Key Responsibilities and accountabilities:

  • Track progress against budgets within established finance systems and report variances as appropriate.
  • Ensure compliance with local market financial laws, requirements, and regulations.
  • Implement the global Survitec control framework and drive the development and maintenance of financial controls.
  • Collate and analyse data using standard accounting methodologies, systems, tools, and formats to deliver high-quality monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting.
  • Produce key financial documents, including statutory accounts, monthly reporting, budgeting, reforecast processes, and monthly management accounts pack (including commentary and analysis).
  • Manage and participate in the monthly accounting cycle, including assisting with the organization and coordination of the month-end process and associated Board reports.
  • Ensure the business meets all its statutory and compliance obligations, including statutory accounting and tax issues.
  • Manage and report on capex spend, identifying overspend and reporting it appropriately.
  • Provide support and advice on data management systems to help others get the most out of them.
  • Gather and summarize data for non-standard analyses, reports, improvement projects, and programs.
  • Resolve queries from internal or external customers or suppliers by providing information on complex processes and related policies.
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of financial policies, guidelines, and protocols to ensure regulatory compliance and good financial practice.
  • Lead, coach, and develop an engaged and motivated finance team towards a high-performance culture of continuous improvement.
  • Identify instances of non-compliance with Survitec\'s policies and procedures and/or relevant regulatory codes and codes of conduct, reporting, escalating, and addressing them as appropriate.
The Experience, Qualifications and Skills You Will Have

Essential Criteria:
  • Educated to High School / Further Education College level, with 2 A Levels.
  • 1 - 3 years of general experience within your discipline, working unsupervised.
  • 6 months of experience coordinating the work of others is advantageous.
  • Strong accountability and commitment to meeting commitments.
  • Proficiency in financial analysis and reporting.
  • Ability to interpret and apply financial indicators to make better business decisions.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to convey complex financial information.
  • Proficiency in using financial software and tools.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and build partnerships.
  • Strong knowledge of financial laws and regulations.
  • Ability to anticipate and adopt innovations in financial technology applications.
