Job Description




We are recruiting a FCR Advisory role at Senior Analyst/ Manager level with anti-money laundering and counter terrorism financing (AML/CTF) knowledge based in Singapore to support our Asian business activities region wide with a focus on Hong Kong and Singapore. This will include responsibilities concerning AML/CFT, on anti-bribery & corruption matters and on assisting on sanctions risk management for bank and non-bank activities. The successful candidate will play a key role in providing compliance advice to the business relating to AML/KYC, Sanctions and Anti-bribery and Corruption and helping develop and implement related policies and procedures which are compliant with our global policies as well as local regulatory requirements. The role will be dynamic and you will be heavily involved in day-to-day customer due diligence, sanctions advisory and executing on our policy, standards and guidance documents. To thrive in this role, the successful candidate should be prepared to actively engage with the business and learn about our diverse product range in order to provide appropriate advice. The ability to conduct research and work independently, determine priorities and meet deadlines will be a key skill in managing different FCR initiatives and projects. The candidate should be motivated to keep abreast on changes to regulatory requirements and to assess impact and communicate these changes to relevant stakeholders. Key responsibilities:

  • Provide advice to businesses in Asia (with a focus on HK and SG) with regards to onboarding of clients, counterparties or others in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Provide advice to businesses on a transactional or deal specific basis, helping identify FCR risks and advising on risk mitigating measures.
  • Executing on our policy, standards and guidance documents in reviewing/ approving alerts, records and processes.
  • Engaged with and potentially leading regulatory change as it relates to changes in requirements pertaining to AML/CFT, sanctions or anti-bribery & corruption.
  • Assist in managing Audits and examinations as required.
  • Provide support for testing and assurance in accordance with our testing and assurance program.
  • As required, working with Compliance and other divisions within RMG to support implementation of controls and manage risk.
  • As required, perform FCR related operational work concerning screening, material news reviews and preparing board meeting materials.
Key Skills and Attributes:
  • A good knowledge and experience on FCR regulations in Asia specifically with regards to Singapore and Hong Kong.
  • Where necessary, providing challenge to Macquarie’s businesses/ stakeholders on potential issues uncovered regarding financial crime risks but having the aptitude to work out solutions taking a risk balanced mindset.
  • Interest and aptitude to engage directly with our business partners to build relationship and to understand their products and concerns. Ability to work independently is expected.
  • Persuasive communication skills both written and verbal. Good written English is a requirement. Abilities in other relevant Asia languages will be considered favourably.
  • Energised by working in a dynamic environment, a strong sense of client focus and ability to manage multiple stakeholder interests simultaneously.
  • Ability to adapt to change and take on new challenges. Someone who is interested to engage and looks to build relationships with stakeholders. Someone that has an interest to build a personal profile in the firm/ industry and increase exposures and knowledge on our business and products.
  • Proactive, self-motivated, strong sense of responsibility, outstanding attention to detail and well-organised.
As a successful candidate, you should have a minimum of 3-5 years related experience within the banking and finance industry or relevant experience in audit, legal, risk management or operating in a regulatory environment. A strong understanding of financial markets and an interest in developing a career in Financial Crime Risk will be favourably considered. The role will report to the Head of FCR Advisory in Hong Kong and is an excellent opportunity to join a high-performing team within a growing and dynamic financial institution.
