Business Overview
The Financial Markets (FM) Rates Trading Desk in Singapore specializes in providing clients in APAC and globally with G10 and EM Asia interest rate products, which includes Interest Rate Swaps, Cross currency swaps, FX forwards/swaps, FRAs, NDF/NDS/NDIRS, Government bonds and other customized linear rate products. Clients include corporates, financial institutions, supra-national entities, central banks, portfolio managers, and internal desks. The desk is also engaged in proprietary risk taking in the G10 and EM Asian interest rate markets.
Key Responsibilities
Price/execute and hedge FM client transactions and maximize the monetization of these flows, with minimal guidance from senior trader, while maintaining competitive bid/offer spreads.
Take active role in the daily risk management of the desks portfolios and risk analysis / P&L explain.
Effectively engage in proprietary risk taking to generate trading revenues
Further develop desks capabilities, presence and the ING franchise in key Asian rates markets
Provide/disseminate rates market colour and intelligence within FM and to external stakeholders
Mentor and develop junior traders within and outside the rates desk.
Requirements
5yrs or more working experience in financial markets, asset management or related field.
University degree from accredited institution
Team player with good interpersonal and communication skills
Detail oriented, strong analytical/quantitative skills
Independent, self-motivated, fast learner who is able to multi-task and thrive under dynamic environment
Experience with financial modeling/analysis and familiar with financial markets products
Proficient with Excel / programming languages to perform data analysis
University level course work in economics/finance or accounting.
