Responsibilities include analysis, design, programming, debugging, and troubleshooting firmware in embedded applications, all while working closely with cross-functional teams to push the boundaries of what\'s possible.Join us to be at the forefront of technological innovation, where your expertise will help shape the future of HP\'s computing solutions.ResponsibilitiesDesign and implement enhancements, updates, and programming changes for firmware subsystems, including DSP, embedded code, and PC BIOS/UEFI.Lead and manage projects with internal teams and outsourced development partners, overseeing all stages of design and development for complex products and platforms, including solution design, analysis, coding, testing, and integration.Develop and maintain relationships with internal and outsourced partners on firmware design and development.Write and execute comprehensive testing plans, protocols, and documentation for assigned portions of the application; identify, debug, and resolve issues with code and integration into the application architecture.Review and evaluate designs and project activities for compliance with systems design and development guidelines and standards; provide feedback to improve product quality and mitigate failure risk.Offer domain-specific expertise and provide overall firmware leadership and perspective to cross-organization projects, programs, and activities.Drive innovation and integrate new technologies into projects and activities within the firmware design organization.Provide guidance and mentorship to less-experienced staff members, fostering a culture of learning and growth.Education & Experience RecommendedBachelor\'s or Master\'s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalentTypically 7-10 years of relevant experience.Knowledge & SkillsPossess advanced technical knowledge of complex software systems, including enterprise, middleware, firmware, and embedded systems.Strong background in software development, systems engineering, software product management, or electrical engineering.Expertise in business acumen with a keen ability for root cause analysis and problem detection.Extensive experience with a variety of firmware design tools and languages, coupled with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.Proficient in the overall architecture of firmware and its interaction with hardware designs for products and solutions.Skilled in designing and integrating firmware into the overall architecture and hardware design.Experienced in evaluating forms and processes for firmware testing and methodology, including the writing and execution of test plans, debugging, and testing scripts and tools.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with mastery in English and the local language.Ability to effectively communicate product architectures and design proposals, and offer recommended options at senior management levels.Expert team skills with the capability to drive and influence work through others cross-functionally, mentor, and lead teams to achieve results for complex, ambiguous projects.Impact & Scope
