The Role

As a Firmware Engineer at Refract Technologies, you will be responsible for developing, testing, and maintaining firmware for our cutting-edge gaming products. You will work closely with various stakeholders such as hardware engineers, and software engineers, to ensure that our products are of unmatched quality and are readily able to meet the needs of our customers. You will play an integral role in the development, growth and maintenance of our latest technology!

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain firmware for microcontroller-based products
• Contribute to system architecture and development of new features for embedded systems
• Write high-quality, maintainable, and reusable code in C or C++
• Work with hardware engineers to bring up new hardware platforms
• Debug firmware and hardware issues using a variety of tools, including oscilloscopes and logic analyzers
• Write test cases and perform functional and performance testing
• Collaborate with other teams to ensure seamless integration of firmware with other software components
• Stay up-to-date with the latest firmware development best practices and technologies
• Contribute to the development of technical specifications, design documents, and other project-related documentation

• Strong written and verbal communication skills - able to effectively relay identified issues and information to team members in discussion as well as documentation.

• Proven ability in managing deadlines and priorities.

• Meticulous and high attention to detail.

• Bachelor\'s or Master\'s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
• 3+ years of experience in firmware development
• Strong expertise in C or C++ programming languages
• Experience with microcontroller-based products and development tools, such as Keil, IAR, or GCC
• Familiarity with communication protocols, such as I2C, SPI, and UART
• Experience with espressif/Esp 32 platform is a bonus
• Experience with debugging and testing firmware and hardware issues
