About the Department

Group Technology and Operations (GTO) provides software and system development, information technology support services and banking operations.

We have centralized and standardized the technology components into Singapore, creating a global footprint which can be utilized for supporting our regional subsidiaries and the branches around the world. We operate and support 19 countries with this architecture to provide a secure and flexible banking infrastructure.

Our Operations divisions provide transactional customer services for our businesses while also focusing on cost efficiency through process improvements, automation and straight through processing.

Job Responsibilities

Within Group Banking Technology, the Cash & Payments technology team is responsible for all aspects of the cash & payments processing application portfolio, including:

  • Defining the application end state and transition plan aligning to overall architecture roadmap
  • Delivering all IT solutions and enhancements.
  • Ensuring highly available and scalable system capabilities to accommodate business growth
  • Managing risk and security aspects of the application portfolio
As part of major investment program over the next few years significant enhancements, transformation and upgrades of the current channel assistance and payments pre-processing platform is planned
  • Reporting to the Platform Lead, this role is responsible for
  • Defining overall software engineering standards for the application
  • Design and build re-usable technical assets and optimize application design to enable federated development by multiple teams across multiple projects.
  • Define quality standards, measurement criteria and tools to measure, manage and improve quality in all day-to-day aspects of software design, application development, integration, and release management activities
  • identify and rollout tools, frameworks to enable developer\'s productivity and quality
  • Build a core team of engineering SME\'s responsible to define, enable, measure and manage team delivery velocity, code quality, consistency in solutions and building assets for reusability
  • Define the contours and application integration boundaries clearly in the overall domain landscape and work with architects in laying down the overall roadmap for the application
  • Define the incremental approach on building out capabilities aligning to the overall roadmap
  • Work with a team of subject matter experts, architects and software developers to deliver projects and change requests via in-house development or vendo
  • Define and manage technical solution from design through to code level, in close collaboration with the enterprise architecture and software engineering functions
  • Providing hands-on guidance to the team on technical issues
  • Partnering with business stakeholders to understand business requirements and provide consultation on solution and technology.
  • Leading and contributing to cross-team improvement initiatives relating to agile methods, CI/CD tools, people, architecture, project management and governance, including further adoption and improvements to the Bank\'s System Development Methodology (SDM)
Job Requirements
  • Strong IT solution delivery experience in implementing large scale, highly available applications, preferably payment processing, entitlements, orchestration solutions.
  • At least 17-20 years of hands on experience in application development and maintenance with full software development life cycle experience, including application design, framework development, coding and technical specifications and testing automation experience
  • Solid foundation in service-oriented technologies to be able to understand service interdependencies and drive towards technical solutions for multi-tiered systems.
  • 5+ years\' experience on design, development and implementation of applications using micro services, Restful API, containers
  • Good understanding and experience in various software development cycle methodologies, including migrating from Waterfall to Agile methodologies
  • Hands-on experience in implementing DevOps is preferred
  • ESB, Event Driven, Microservices , SOA Architecture, Services governance and design

  • DevOps (Git, Jenkins, Maven, Artifactory, Sonarcube, Fortify, Docker, Kubernetes, Cucumber etc.)
  • Strong skills in at least one of the following: Oracle, MS SQL, Maria DB or any NoSQL
  • Ability to use a wide variety of open source technologies and cloud services.
  • Exposure to the following technologies: Weblogic/JBoss, Unix operating systems, MQ/ConnectDirect messaging
  • 5 or more years\' experience as a lead or above delivering global IT capabilities for a multi-national company managing team of developers/engineers ( onsite, offshore)
  • Proven results-oriented person with a focus on deliveryExperience with implementing and integrating 3rd party solutions is preferred
  • Domain knowledge in Transaction Banking, Cash Management and Payments preferred
  • Highly effective in communicating with senior stakeholders across business, technology and proficient in communicating with non-technical stakeholdersStrong team player able to rally multiple teams towards common objective.
  • Good networking, problem solving, analytical, system thinking and solutioning skills.
