About the Role:

Brinc is raising the US$50M Counter Culture Fund to invest in and partner with early stage Alternative Protein companies across Asia.

As a Principal, you will work closely with Brinc leadership and the Fund's General Partners on capital formation, fund operations, deal origination, due diligence, investment management and portfolio management.

Principals are also responsible for promoting Brinc's brand and expanding our presence, network and impact in Singapore.

We are looking for someone who is entrepreneurial and passionate about overhauling the food system, and can help accelerate the launch of our Counter Culture Fund.

At the onset, this role will involve developing fundraising strategies, preparing marketing materials, identifying and engaging with potential investors and helping secure investor commitments.

The role will then evolve to include originating investment opportunities, conducting due diligence, presenting opportunities to the investment committee and actively creating value for our portfolio companies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish and cultivate relationships with relevant strategic and financial LPs (including sovereign funds, asset managers, pensions, endowments, family offices, corporates, high-net-worth individuals, etc.) who are interested in the Alternative Protein sector.
  • Prepare investor presentations, case studies and other marketing materials to support fundraising efforts for the Counter Culture Fund.
  • Develop and implement fundraising strategies to identify potential LPs, convey Brinc's value proposition and secure investment for the US$50M Counter Culture Fund.
  • Contribute to and drive investor relations by keeping LPs well-informed of Brinc's track record, fundraising progress and notable portfolio company updates.
  • Source and evaluate alternative protein companies, prepare investment committee memorandums, facilitate negotiations and advise on investment decisions.
  • Manage, support and monitor portfolio companies through active engagement, ongoing reporting and analysis of financial performance, including portfolio company valuations.
  • Proactively create value for the Fund's investors by curating relevant co-investment opportunities and sharing relevant industry insights, innovations and trends.
  • Represent Brinc at relevant industry events and conferences.

Requirements
  • 5+ years of work experience in the Food and Agriculture sector with a focus on alternative protein. Fund Management or Venture Capital experience would be an advantage (but is not essential).
  • A deep understanding of the Food and Agriculture sector including major challenges, novel technologies, emerging trends and opportunities for innovation, disruption and investment.
  • A genuine passion for partnering with entrepreneurs and a belief the world needs more game changers and innovators to solve fundamental problems.
  • High energy, independent thinker, entrepreneurial mindset and a collaborative team-oriented approach.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including communication, presentation and storytelling.
  • Ability to forge genuine win-win relationships, and to establish a high level of credibility externally and internally (personable, mature, influential).
