Job Description

What the role is:

We are looking for passionate candidates to be part of a dynamic team that strives for continuous improvements and innovation to support forensic investigations in the area of forensic investigations.

• Provide quality and efficient forensic science services in areas utilising chemistry and analytical instruments for the interpretation of forensic evidence.
• Conduct forensic examination of exhibits, including operation of instruments used in analysis, submitted to the laboratory by law enforcement agencies.
• Prepare forensic reports and provide expert testimony in court for the administration of justice.
• Assist in/Lead research projects to develop and advance the laboratory\'s methodology, technology and quality assurance.
• Attend crime scenes.

Job Requirements

• Background in Chemistry, Forensic Science, Materials Science Engineering or a relevant field.
• Highly motivated with a strong desire to serve the administration of justice.
• Good critical-thinking and analytical thinking skills, with attention to details.
• Good foundation in chemistry, including chemical reactions, molecular structures and analytical techniques.
• Understanding of underlying theories and principles of common analytical instruments such as GC-MS, LC-MS, FT-IR spectrometer and Raman spectrometer. Prior hands-on experience in operation of these instruments would be advantageous.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
• Good oral presentation skills, with the ability to convey scientific concepts and findings to non-technical audiences.
• Able to work both independently and also to collaborate with others.
