Universal Pictures Theatrical Brand Marketing unifies the strategic positioning and approach to Universal\'s event and franchise films across the studio, during theatrical release, and throughout the lifecycle of the franchise to ensure brand consistency.The Franchise Strategy and Brand Theatrical Manager, APAC will be responsible for assisting in driving the growth and development of NBCUniversal franchises by creating and managing innovative plans that maximize NBCU IP, particularly existing or future franchises, across the company and help ensure long-term success of the brands, and ultimately drive revenue and long-term value for NBCUniversal. The role will also be instrumental in managing, maximizing and coordinating the activities of all business units on Universal Pictures properties during the Symphony film window as well as helping maintain the brand value and needs on an on-going basis.You will be reporting into the Vice President, Franchise APAC, working in tandem on key strategic projects across all franchises i.e. Universal and Illumination, and DreamWorksYou will also be an important regional brand lead working between the Global Franchise and Theatrical teams located in US and local Marketing teams (Theatrical and CP/Franchise) across APAC (Japan, Korea, Australia, SEA and India), advocating for regional needs, and adapting global franchise marketing strategies for APAC activation.Key ResponsibilitiesTheatrical Brand Marketing/Park/Symphony

  • Support the Parks initiatives in APAC - USJ and USS. Help with the Approval process of various initiatives at the parks - marketing, entertainment, social/digital campaigns.
  • Project manages and executes symphony activations - work closely with theatrical, Parks, CP, Network, TVD group to plan and execute key symphony initiatives
  • Develop creative briefs and partner with creative agencies on Symphony activations in the movie window - generate ideas to implement across the region
  • Manage production and distribution of all marketing and sales materials for titles including presentations, reels and collateral used studio-wide for global Promotions, Consumer products, International TV Distribution and Global Theatrical Marketing.
Franchise Strategy
  • Assist local franchise teams on planning and execution of initiatives, including approval process
  • Liaise with Global Franchise and local Franchise teams for input into seasonal early planning lifecycles. Provide input into the Franchise Planning Process ensuring integration of APAC regional and local market needs
  • Partner with APAC Franchise head to manage Corporate Franchise budget -work with creative agencies to develop ideas across digital, social and experiential - with the intent to roll out the ideas across the region in the local markets
  • Attend top-tier retail, KPM and licensee meetings in region, as requested to support with story beats and sensitive materials
  • Support input to and analysis of key Franchise research projects, including brand health insights, content performance ratings and performance updates & analysis for TV & Theatrical
  • Reviews and ensures brand integrity of all licensee and retailer marketing in region (TV and other high-profile submissions)
  • Partner with regional social and digital teams for strategic planning, localization and campaign solutions, identifying tactics that drive innovation - including influencer campaigns
QualificationsBasic Requirements:
  • Marketing/Franchise Management specialist - preferably from the Media Industry.
  • Interest in Consumer Insights, Marketing, Events, International market dynamics.
  • Need someone with good exposure to the evolving digital/social environment. Knowledge of global/local digital platforms/gaming targeting kids and young adults.
  • Has good contacts with creative, digital, event, media and third-party promotions agencies in the region. Has experience in working with these agencies on developing ideas and executing them.
  • Proven record of working cross functionally with colleagues and teams - regionally and globally.
  • Proactive and \'Can do\' attitude.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with attention to detail and the ability to develop and deliver clear and consistent messages across many different stakeholders.
  • Relationship builder and collaborator - great interpersonal skills, able to flex style, understand needs, build a strong network and work within a matrixed environment.
  • Creative problem and conflict solver -pro-actively seek solutions and look for ways to bring teams to drive one goal and find middle path.
  • Able to travel and geographically mobile.
Desired Characteristics:
  • Experience in kids entertainment or Kids-related business preferred.
  • Ability to think strategically about the changing marketplace & consumer shopping patterns, with the ability to multitask.
  • Well versed in dealing with senior leadership, outside 3rd parties, talent and international contacts.
  • Fluent in English and ideally an additional Asian language (Japanese or Korean) to communicate with stakeholders in this region.
  • Basic Photoshop knowledge - experience in building presentations on MAC.
