Freelance Young Builders Instructors
to lead fun, imaginative sessions using
Makedo
- a safe, sustainable building system that empowers children to design and construct amazing creations from cardboard and reusable tools.
This flexible role is perfect for students, graduates, educators, or makers who love working with children aged 4-12. Whether you're new to teaching or already experienced, full training will be provided!
Key Responsibilities
Lead engaging building sessions:
Guide children through themed projects like forts, robots, cities, and vehicles using Makedo kits.
Foster creativity and teamwork:
Encourage imagination, problem-solving, and collaboration through open-ended play and guided challenges.
Ensure safety and care:
Oversee the proper use of Makedo tools (safe saws, screws, connectors) and maintain a safe, organized workspace.
Support learning and growth:
Offer guidance and encouragement as children design, build, and experiment.
Communicate effectively:
Liaise with parents and the program team to ensure smooth class delivery and positive experiences.

Key Requirements
Passion for building, design, or tinkering -- and sharing that excitement with children.
Enjoy working with kids aged 4-12 in interactive group settings.
Clear and confident communication skills.
Reliable, punctual, and well-prepared for each class.
Available on
Mondays
and able to commit for at least 6 months (school-term only; no weekends or holidays).
Preferred (but not required)
Experience teaching or leading kids' activities.
Background in DIY, maker, or cardboard construction projects.
Familiarity with Makedo or other STEAM tools and kits.
Interest in sustainability, design thinking, or STEM education.
Training Provided
No prior Makedo experience? No worries! We'll equip you with everything you need to confidently lead creative building sessions.
