Game Writer & Narrative Designer Roles & Responsibilities

XII Braves is looking for a Writer & Narrative Designer to contribute to the studio\xe2\x80\x99s storytelling and communication of its current live and in-development game. (Mobile Game: Valiant Force 2) Our resident lorekeeper and wordsmith will work closely with stakeholders, producers, the community team, and game designers; to weave narrative into game features and art assets and build cohesive and immersive worlds that fire the imagination. Responsibilities: \xe2\x97\x8f Research, concept and pitch scenarios for limited-time events and full campaigns for existing and new IPs. \xe2\x97\x8f Work with game designers and game directors to author dialogue, voiceover lines, mission prologues, level introductions, character profiles, bestiary, inventory flavor text, in-game news, etc, that support game design goals while staying true to the established vision, lore and style of the IP. \xe2\x97\x8f Proofread and edit content and documentation by stakeholders, game designers, and the community team for public release, and ensure clear and concise messaging to our target audience and corporate partners. \xe2\x97\x8f Maintain the Master Text Documents and appendices required for projects the writer is involved in. Qualifications: \xe2\x97\x8f Excellent command of the English language. \xe2\x97\x8f Graduate diploma/degree in the following fields: Literature, Film, Games Design, or Mass Communications. \xe2\x97\x8f At least 1 year of experience in developing narrative content in any form of media such as video games, web sites, television, film, print, radio. \xe2\x97\x8f Strong interest and knowledge of mobile games, hero collection/gacha games, and narrative-driven games (Describe in your experience and insight in brief. Only applications that include this will be considered!) \xe2\x97\x8f Knowledge of the lore of Valiant Force (You may be asked to share your opinions on these subjects in the interview!) \xe2\x97\x8f A portfolio of written work must be furnished to be considered for this position. Relevant writing samples include: published articles, op-eds, books, screenplays, essays, even fan fiction! Dialogue must make up a significant portion of the submitted writing samples. Preferred Qualities: \xe2\x97\x8f Well-read and well-versed in fantasy fiction, anime and manga. \xe2\x97\x8f Academic background in the humanities fields such as sociology, anthropology, history, geography, mythology, psychology, etc. \xe2\x97\x8f Strong team ethic and receptive to co-writing. \xe2\x97\x8f Ability to illustrate and storyboard. \xe2\x97\x8f A versatile writer who is either currently proficient in a broad range of styles or is capable of quickly learning new ones. \xe2\x97\x8f Possesses an appetite to improve constantly as a writer and the discipline to proofread your work.
