Job Description

Job Responsibilities:

Perform mechanical maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on gantry cranes and related lifting equipment. Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance activities to ensure safe and reliable crane operations. Assist engineers in mechanical inspections, load testing, and performance checks. Diagnose mechanical faults and replace worn-out parts such as bearings, gears, wire ropes, and hydraulic components. Conduct routine checks on structural integrity, alignment, lubrication systems, and mechanical assemblies. Support installation, commissioning, and upgrade works for gantry cranes and mechanical systems. Ensure all maintenance activities comply with workplace safety regulations and company SOPs. Maintain accurate maintenance records, service reports, and spare-parts tracking. Coordinate with electrical technicians/engineers when mechanical issues relate to electro-mechanical systems.

Job Requirements:

Nitec / Higher Nitec / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline. Hands-on experience in mechanical maintenance of gantry cranes, overhead cranes, or heavy industrial machinery preferred. Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, gearboxes, brakes, and wire-rope mechanisms. Able to read mechanical drawings, schematics, and manuals. Physically fit and comfortable working at heights and in industrial environments. Good teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills. Willing to perform overtime or respond to breakdowns when required.
