Job Description

Purpose of the role: Pico is currently seeking candidates for our APAC General Counsel based in our Singapore office. Successful candidates will be responsible for overseeing the legal and regulatory needs of the APAC markets. The appointed person will provide legal advice and support to internal clients on a variety of legal matters, including regarding day-to-day commercial and corporate generalist work in a fast paced, rapidly expanding company. The appointed person will also be responsible for all legal aspects of the business in dedicated markets/countries, including project-based work and/or pan-region work. He/she will be expected to make significant contribution to the successful management and growth of the APAC businesses.

Responsibilities and duties (include but not limited to)

• Prepare and review a variety of commercial and technology agreements such as; Master service agreements, software licenses, maintenance agreements, exchange agreements, outsourcing agreements, NDAs, professional services agreements and system access agreements, from both a customer\xe2\x80\x99s and vendor\'s perspective
• Dealing with jurisdictional and commercial complexities in the region and how they impact the company\'s business. (Accordingly, the nature of the legal function includes a commercial and strategic dimension.)
• Legal work includes review and negotiation of contracts with clients and suppliers including a significant number of IT contracts.
• Assist senior management teams in assigned countries in the management of legal and commercial risks.
• Assist in the establishment and maintenance of a network of external legal advisors in assigned countries.
• Monitoring regulatory developments in countries assigned to him/her and selected regulatory efforts.
• Working with global staff when agreements are required for implementation of projects in the region.
• Oversight/coordinate company corporate secretarial services for assigned countries. Handling issues related to privacy law, data protection, anti-money laundering.

• 10 - 15 years relevant post-qualification experience in general commercial legal matters in a reputable law firm and/or corporation.
• Experience with cross border business within the APAC region
• Great understanding of Tax and Regulatory requirements in APAC
• Experience in technology product procurement, especially market data and exchange connectivity
• Knowledge of hardware and software licensing agreements
• Strong business acumen with business-oriented legal solutions
• Very strong oral and written communication skills
• Good organizational skills
• Strong attention to detail and comfort working with deadlines. Very hands-on, roll up your sleeves atmosphere
