Job Description


The General Manager (GM) of the Singapore Airlines Academy is responsible for leading and managing all aspects of the Academy\'s business and operations. This role involves strategic planning, team leadership, market and product development. The GM will be responsible for driving the growth of the Academy and maintaining its reputation for the delivery of high quality training programs.Key Responsibilities

  • Leadership and Strategy:
- Define and execute the Academy\'s strategic vision in alignment with overall business goals.
- Shape and communicate the Academy\'s value proposition.
- Prepare and report business performance to Senior Vice President Human Resources on monthly basis and to Academy Steering Committee on quarterly basis. * Financial Oversight:- Prepare and manage budgets, ensuring that the Academy operates within financial constraints while meeting revenue targets. * Business Development:- Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including partnerships, collaborations, and market expansion.
- Develop and implement sales strategies to attract new clients and retain existing ones.
- Drive above and below-the-line marketing initiatives leveraging on assets and channels such as website, social media, participation in selected events.
- Review pricing and ensure market competitiveness of program offerings. Guide team in negotiations and establishing sound proposals, including the direct handling of escalated cases. * Product Development and Delivery:- Oversee the design, development and delivery of training programs to ensure they meet the highest standards of quality and relevance to client needs.
- Stay informed about industry trends and ensure the curriculum evolves accordingly. * Client Management:- Cultivate and establish strong business relationships with existing and new clients. * Operational Management:- Oversee the operational aspects of the Academy, including facilities, technology, and stakeholder relationships.
- Ensure compliance with relevant internal and external policies, regulations, standards, and best practices.
- Review and endorse training services agreements per approvals. * Team Management:- Recruit, manage, and develop staff, ensuring that the team has the skills and resources needed to succeed and ensure high standards of performance and accountability.Requirements
  • Possess a university Bachelor\'s degree in any discipline.
  • An Advanced Certificate in Training and Assessment (ACTA) or Advanced Certificate in Learning and Performance (ACLP), is required.
  • A Diploma in Adult and Continuing Education (DACE) or Diploma in Design and Development of Learning for Performance (DDDLP), is an advantage.
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in a leadership role within a training institute or educational organization, preferably in service and operational excellence.
  • Proven track record in strategic planning, financial management, business development, client management and operational oversight.
  • Proficiency in financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience in sales and business development, with a track record of driving growth is preferred.
