Job Description


The Role ResponsibilitiesStrategyThe Genesis Programme, a priority GCFO MT sponsored initiative that spans Treasury, Finance and Businesses focused on balance sheet management, forecasting and NIM has been established with simplified governance model, approved initiatives, funding and Steering Committee with the following vision:-

  • Help to transition the Group to a balance-sheet led approach to forecasting, planning and resource management.
  • This will support the transformation of planning and forecasting to a dynamic, insightful and strategic projection and simulation capability.
  • GCFO teams will focus efforts on influencing and challenging business assumptions, assessing risks and opportunities instead of reconciling and loading large volumes of data.
In addition, this role will drive outcomes expected across Capital and Liquidity regulatory data remediation agenda.BusinessOne of the key enablement workstreams is Data, where the Data workstream lead is required to:-
  • Confirm golden source and availability of the required data attributes (CDEs), including frequency, granularity and other dimensions
  • Provide timeline when the data would be available in Sub-Ledger / Ledger
  • If not available in Sub-Ledger / Ledger confirm where data should be sourced from in the interim (and confirm timeline when this needs to be sourced from Sub-Ledger / Ledger)
  • Review and challenge taxonomy requirements with regards to hierarchies \xe2\x80\x93 design thinking on how this should / could be implemented in MDG
  • Review non-functional requirements where it pertains to data retention, archival etc
  • Data governance and ownership, DQMS (linking to BCBS239) and control framework to be leveraged or implemented
  • Ensure Data SLAs (contract between data provided and consumer) and OLAs (agreed timing) in place
  • Identify handshake with operating model workstream where any of the above impacts as-in or target state operating model and / or processes
  • Single point-of-contact on Data across all Genesis workstreams ensuring data design principles adhered to, consistency (covering above) and bringing the right people together to address clarifications, data quality issues, remediation plans
  • Ensure standardized taxonomy changes are delivered consistently across finance and risk infrastructure
In addition, this role will drive outcomes expected across Capital and Liquidity regulatory data remediation agenda covering:
  • Working with Upstream, Operations and Change teams drive and lead reduction of identified data quality issues in both Capital and Liquidity Reporting to reduce materiality & operational risks including
  • Owning and delivering Data Governance remediation action (including BCBS239 compliance)
  • Root cause analysis and upstream assessment for upstream for Finance and upstream observations
  • Closure of data remediation issues
  • Manage and support internal and external assurance reviews engagements across Capital Reporting:
  • Validate issues, assess materiality & controls
  • Investigate material issues to identify CDE, data lineage, system causing issue, root cause
  • Investigation in upstream systems/business process to identify the root cause, impacted process/system, availability of handshake
  • Documentation of controls, management response and action plan, tagging with strategic project.

  • Collaborate and partner with Global Process Leaders as part of the Build & Maintain model
  • Delivery the infrastructure and capabilities to enable target operating model and control framework
  • Optimizing current business model and enabling business benefit materialization through straight-through processing

  • Lead through example and build the appropriate culture and values. Set appropriate tone and expectations from their team and work in collaboration with risk and control partners.
  • Ensure the provision of ongoing training and development of people and ensure that holders of all critical functions are suitably skilled and qualified for their roles ensuring that they have effective supervision in place to mitigate any risks.
  • Employ, engage, and retain high quality people, with succession planning for critical roles.
  • Responsibility to review team structure/capacity plans.
  • Set and monitor job descriptions and objectives for direct reports and provide feedback and rewards in line with their performance against those responsibilities and objectives
Risk Management
  • Be a fearless leader in driving the adoption and associated operational benefits of the strategic technology
  • Proactive in seeking regular assurance that the teams are performing to an acceptable risk and control standard.
  • Act quickly and decisively when any risk and control weakness become apparent and ensure they are addressed within an appropriate timeframe and escalated through the relevant committees.
  • Include all necessary internal, legal and regulatory controls through the development of Global Finance requirements.
  • Balance business performance delivery and cost management constraints with risk and control matters to ensure that they do not materially threaten the Group\xe2\x80\x99s ability to remain within risk appetite.
Governance
  • Embed the Group\xe2\x80\x99s values and code of conduct in the Global Finance Technology teams to ensure adherence with the highest standards of ethics and compliance with relevant policies, processes and regulations among employees form part of the culture.
  • Ensure compliance with all salient SCB governance frameworks where there are direct touchpoints with them or any subsequent downstream influence from the Global Finance Technology Team.

Our Ideal CandidateMust Have
  • Strong track record of data management and / or data operating model execution and delivery in transformation projects
  • 15+ years of overall work experience with 5+ years of relevant data management experience
  • Ability to work proactively, independently when necessary and displays strong initiative.
  • Agile framework or PMP certifications
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Consistently high performer and excellent role model of the Banks core values
  • High levels of energy and drive, willingness to work hard
  • Pragmatic team player with attention to detail
  • Hands on experience in data management and operating model in Tier 1 Bank
  • Experience in working in multicultural teams
  • Good expertise on organisational design and process implementation to support regulatory driven financial reporting
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills covering both senior and operational levels
  • Experience of programme definition and delivery in an evolving regulatory environment
Preferred:
  • Understanding of end-to-end data operating model
  • Understanding of Balance Sheet Management, Capital, Liquidity Reporting
  • Displays personal authority, integrity and ethics
  • Exposure to business architecture principles and methods
