SUMMARY OF ROLE

The Global Category Specialist - Professional Services will be part of the global Indirects team and play a key role in the transformation of global supply chain and specifically Indirects procurement across Maxeon. In this capacity, you will lead, develop, and operationalise category sourcing plan for various HR services (Talent, Rewards and Benefits, Training), Professional Services (Consulting, Financial, Insurance, Legal, Engineering & Project-Based), Contingent Labour globally.

You will lead, develop, and execute category sourcing plans, conducts tenders and market engagements, establish commercial terms and ensure services are effectively procured and contracted in line with Maxeon's business objectives.

Together with cross functional stakeholders, you will also manage contract reviews of supplier contracts, undertake contract management, track compliance, and manage key contract life cycle activities such as contract expirations, renewals as well as amendments.

Reporting to the Global Indirect Sourcing Manager (based in Singapore), you will be responsible for managing and continuously improving, digitalising "source-to-pay" activities, in compliance with Maxeon's policies and processes.

Global Category Specialist - Professional Services' key contributions will be: (i) Maxeon gets the best value proposition from its Professional Services suppliers through effective negotiation, (ii) Maxeon's corporate stakeholders are supported on sourcing and supplier management requirements, (iii) compliance with Maxeon's policies and processes is adhered to.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Category Strategy Deployment - Works closely with the Manager, Global Indirect Procurement to deploy and implement Category Strategies and plans for various HR services (Talent, Rewards and Benefits, Training), Professional Services (Consulting, Financial, Insurance, Legal, Engineering & Project-Based), Contingent Labour globally.
Work closely with the Global Indirects Sourcing Manager/Director to ensure alignment of priorities, goals, and related activities.

This includes:
  • building relationships with stakeholders and developing category plans
  • carrying out benchmark studies for the categories in scope
  • ensure timely execution of RFX (RFI/ RFQ/ RFPs) and contract negotiations/ renewals
  • Implementing appropriate Maxeon contracts to reflect commercial and operational requirements, and improve the portion of Indirect spend managed by contracts.
  • in collaboration with regions support, implementation of global/ local strategy and tactics to ensure Maxeon spend is leveraged whilst specific country requirements are met
  • Supplier Strategy - Evaluate the supply base to identify new supplier opportunities and continually strengthen and lower supply chain risks. Identify suppliers which will match existing opportunities, right-size supplier base
  • Supplier & Contract Management -Lead RFx creation/management, market research/analysis, data collection/analysis, and contract management (cost, terms and conditions, SOWs, MSAs, etc.).
  • Negotiation Lead - Plan and execute contract and pricing negotiations with suppliers on regular and project abasis
  • Contracting - Collaborate with Legal to ensure contractability and commercials are struck in best interest of Maxeon
  • Business Partnering - Proactively and frequently engage business stakeholders, translate business requirements to sourcing strategies/ plans to deliver business requirements. Understand business priorities and guide stakeholders to propose and execute the operational strategies with consideration to risk mitigation and governance.
  • Market Intelligence - Provide market insights to business stakeholders for business strategic planning
  • Value delivery -Ensure timely execution of Procure to Pay activities, monitor POs, cost, schedule and scope of assigned subcontracts to assure best quality at best value
  • Compliance - Ensure activities are executed in line with Maxeon Procurement Policies, Guidelines and Corporate Approval Policy.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Interface professionally and maintain good rapport with requestors, stakeholders, and suppliers
  • Communicate proactively with stakeholders and cross-functional staff regarding issues and plans for resolution
  • Track Indirects category spend, and report realised cost savings
  • Ensure compliance to SOX, specifications and other regulatory requirements
  • Attend meetings/call and participate as needed
  • Compliance with applicable Environment, Health and Safety and Manufacturing Quality standards, rules and regulations
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Direct Manager, when required
RELATED EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Minimum requirements
  • Minimum 5 years' experience as Category specialist or equivalent, preferably in a manufacturing/ technology / services environment with multi-indirect procurement experience particularly complex, emotive categories
  • Excellent communication skills in written and verbal formats
  • Excellent negotiation skills
  • Good presentation skills with ability to present ideas and recommend course of action clearly through a structured process
  • Problem-solving and organised individual, who can strive in a fast-paced working environment
  • Familiar with ERP/Purchasing System(s) (Oracle would be a plus)
  • Proficient in MS Office
Preferred requirements
  • Education: Preferably a graduate of Engineering or Business course
