Your future team:

The APAC Global Financial Crime Compliance (GFCC) Country, Governance and Strategy (CGS) Team provides oversight and governance of the APAC Money Laundering Reporting Officers (MLROs) by providing support, driving effective and consistent practices across different countries, and ensuring effective escalation of issues for GFCC Senior Management awareness.

We work closely with various GFCC stakeholders (e.g., MLROs, KYC Advisory, AML Investigations, Sanctions etc.), global/regional Compliance teams (e.g. OLO, Risk Assessment etc.), lines of business and other Corporate functions on AML/CFT deliverables.

Job responsibilities:

Assist and support the APAC Head of CGS on the following responsibilities:

  • Maintain and develop required processes and controls within the Country, Functional and Oversight Framework that sets out the required MLROs\' responsibilities
  • Drive the APAC GFCC Operating and Governance Forums
  • Coordinate and ensure the escalation of country-related issues to GFCC Senior Management and relevant forums/committees
  • Conduct reviews/ surveys across the countries to perform gap analysis on processes and create opportunities for regional consistencies
  • Provide or coordinate ongoing training to MLROs to ensure that there are no knowledge gap on the Firm\'s or APAC GFCC\'s required processes
Support execution of global and regional CASE tasks:
  • Assist MLROs on country-related issue write-ups to ensure accurate and concise issue and action plans are clearly articulated
  • Coordinate, drive and provide advisory on the drafting of Firmwide AML and Sanctions Risk Assessment
  • Coordinate amongst Global GFCC, APAC Office of Legal Obligation (OLO) team and MLROs to support the mapping of GFCC-related documentation to the obligations. Provide support to any ad-hoc OLO business reviews
  • Liaison with the Central Document Management Governance Group to support the publish and review of policy supplements and supports the review of non-policy documents
  • Provide or coordinate responses to audit or regulatory exams that are related to governance and controls-related matters
Required capabilities, skillset and qualifications:
  • Bachelor\'s degree in Finance, Business or related disciplines
  • Professional certification in ACAMS, ICA is a plus but not a requirement
  • A minimum of 6 years experience in the Financial Services Industry and possesses good knowledge in AML/CFT or governance/controls related requirements.
  • Ability to analyze and spot process or control gaps and ultimately to ensure successful implementation of risk mitigation plans and controls thereafter
  • Effective interpersonal skills necessary to influence and/or negotiate desired outcomes with colleagues and senior management
  • Client management, partnership building, leadership and direct experience of dealing with multiple stakeholders at one time
  • Experience using Microsoft Excel, SharePoint, Word, PowerPoint and other reporting tools, with the proven skills of managing large volumes of quantitative data
