JOB SUMMARY
The role holder is accountable for supporting the strategic business agenda while maintaining risk, assurance and governance oversight, alongside the Global Head WRB BRM and Cluster COOs, in supporting the WRB Management Team.
RESPONSIBILITIES

• Risk identification and Assessment with Alignment to Business Objectives
• Collaborate with Business Heads and 2nd Line of Defense (2nd LoD) to identify and assess potential risks in alignment of business goals and objectives
• Partner with various stakeholders to ensure identified risks are assessed based on criticality with alignment and agreement on mitigation strategy / contorls in support of Business goals
• Assess & optimize the control environment including, but not limited to, design, execution and testing with alignment to Business implemented changes on technology and process automation
• Lead Residual Risk Assessment, Risk Controls Self Assessment and other ORTF assessment to ensure transparency and effective SME Business risk profile management
• Responsible in leading the Business Risk Management for Personal Banking and Small Medium Entreprise (SME) business within Wealth and Retail Banking (WRB) Globally to support business goals and objectives
• Partner with Business Owner and 2nd Line of Defense (2nd LoD) to implement dynamic forward looking controls and control monitors as risk mitigants in alignment of Bank's Enterprise Risk Management Framework (ERMF) and Operational Risk Type Framework (ORTF)
• Lead with guidance and provide advice to the Group and country teams on business risk management in support of busnenss goals with consideration to various market dynamics
• Through collaboration with Group Product Heads (CCPL, Retail & SME): devise assurance dashboard, optimize controls effectiveness through data analytics and establish peer reviews in ensuring identified risks are managed transparently in supporting business agenda
• Responsible in managing risk events (internal and external) and to ensure lessons learnt are developed and reflected through existing established process, further drive action items to closure
• Support the holistic Business Risk Management team's strategy in alignment of WRB Business and WRB COO priorities
• Facilitate Retail & SME Risk Committee & Partnership COE Forum in WRB to ensure quality governance of processes, risk and oversight

• Align the operational risk management approach in function/domain/ to the Risk Management Framework and oversee its effective application across markets.
• Ensure, jointly with the Business / Function that the Process Owners understand and accept their risk management responsibilities in relation to ORTF with clear alignment in support of Business Goals
• Support the WRB Risk Committee and lead on Retail & SME Product Committee, Partnership COE Forum in their governance through partnering with business owner and risk framework owner
• Design, maintain and monitor all controls and monitors with accurate and robust reporting
• Devise mechanism such as assurance programmes, peer review and data analytics to ensure controls effectiveness and execution
• Periodically review operational risk assessments to ensure these appropriately reflect changes in environment, mitigating controls and the progress of treatment plans.
• Monitor treatment plans to ensure they are implemented accordingly by the business.

• Support the overall Business Risk Management agenda within Retail and SME Banking
• Stakeholders management across other Group and country stakeholders

Our Ideal Candidate
Skills & Experience

• 15+ years of Retail experience in managing Process Governance within Retail & SME Business (either Product, sales or distribution channels) in a multi-national financial institution
• Demonstratable prior experience in risk identification and control design will be a key advantage on top of key stakeholders management across geographic location
• Prior experience with Operational Risk Framework and demonstratable understanding on market dynamics and inherent risk associated with WRB business in participating markets
• Strong analytical skills, detail-focused with the ability to interpret large volume of information
• Problem solving skills with ability to influence across all levels of business
• Ability to independently drive initiatives with minimum hands-on supervision.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and additional any local languages within our WRB markets preferable

Qualification

• Education - relevant degree qualification preferred
