The Role Responsibilities
The role holder is accountable for the development and implementation of an impactful People Plan for CISO and Data and Analytics, aligned to the Group’s People Strategy and the strategic priorities of Operations business, in partnership with Group CISO and Chief Data Officer and Global HOHR, Transformation, Technology & Operations. Partnering with Group CISO and Chief Data Officer at the Group MT-1 level, senior managers, functional partners and stakeholders, the role holder will drive and enable sustainable business performance. The role holder will need to manage people processes, ensuring levels of capabilities and performance are aligned with current and future business requirements and also deliver appropriate and relevant HR advice, ensuring that this is in line with the overarching business strategy, governance processes and risk appetite Strategy

  • Partner with Group CISO and Chief Data Officer to build people transformation execution plan, manage milestones and deliverables
  • Partner with the Group CISO and Chief Data Officer and their management team and HR to design and establish the Target Operating Model, including shape, size and location, building a sustainable workforce
  • Lead the global talent and culture agenda for Banks Cyber and Data agenda to attract and retain the best engineering talent, partnering with TA to create an EVP that supports transformation
  • Partner with Head of Capability and MT/LT lead to identify future skills and build plan to buy and/or build, participating in Sprints to build career pathways and engineering skill build
  • Collaborate with Country Heads of HR, HRBPs in key markets, and HR COEs in setting People Plans and influencing HR products and processes
  • Partner with Operations on Diversity & Inclusion to attract and retain an inclusive workforce in the markets we serve
  • Be strong advocates of employee experience, influencing senior leaders and HR products and processes to ensure an employee-centric approach
Business
  • Demonstrate a deep understanding of the engineering and cloud, its strategic priorities to effectively partner with Group CISO and Chief Data Officer, as well their management team
  • Be a disruptor, building new capabilities and driving culture change and driving global change initiatives with stakeholders and wider teams
  • Drive adoption of an adaptable, right-sized, right-shored operating model focused on improving productivity in the function, and provide input to respective COOs and Finance on headcount budgets, forecasts and reviews
  • Lead global People Forums for Group CISO and Chief Data Officer and drive projects and deliverables that relate to the People Plan
Processes
  • Work closely with senior leaders on key people processes such as senior leader hiring and sensitive senior Employee Relations matters
  • Identify areas for improvement in HR processes, providing feedback and escalating issues where appropriate to relevant COEs to enhance client experience and improve productivity within HR
People and Talent
  • Lead the team to deliver specific projects and deliverables as determined by the HR scorecard and CISO and Chief Data Officer business priorities. This may include coordinating with multi-skilled teams across HR.
  • Lead by example and build the appropriate culture and values. Set appropriate tone and expectations from their team and work in collaboration with relevant stakeholders, including risk and control partners.
  • Employ, engage and retain high quality people.
  • Develop and embed a high-performance culture with specific focus on capability, effectiveness and productivity
  • Develop talent to ensure a high-quality succession pipeline at all levels and sponsor ongoing development activities that focus on the identified high performing and high potential individuals within the businesses
  • Focus on inter-region and global talent opportunities and pipelines
  • Manage risks and exceptions with Group CISO and Chief Data Officer and their management team, on recruitment and on-boarding decisions within authorities and as part of the standard process (typically MD level)
Risk Management
  • Understand the risk and control environment in HR’s area of responsibility and drive rectification as required
  • Understand and help manage the people-related risk profile of Group CISO and Chief Data Officer including operational and reputational risk, to Group Standards
  • Coordinate global and major thematic risk & control responses within Operations as part of the global process
  • Working with ER team, provide oversight of complex employee relations issues involving senior people, significant litigation, and high-profile or broad business issues
  • Support the effective implementation of Risk Management framework within the role remit
  • Ensure effective processes are in place to identify, manage, monitor and report risk
Governance
  • Embed the Group’s values and code of conduct, as it relates to the role remit, to ensure that adherence with the highest standards of ethics, and compliance with relevant policies, processes and regulations among employees form part of the culture.
  • Engage with relevant audit report findings across the relevant functions and ensure feedback is acted upon.
Stakeholder Management
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, protecting and enhancing the Group’s reputation and image and developing the HR brand.
  • Establish and maintain a robust relationship with local regulators (where required), industry bodies and relevant government institutions
Regulatory & Business conduct
  • Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group’s Values and Code of Conduct.
  • Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.

  • Academic or Professional Education/Qualifications: Degree or professional qualification from a recognised academic institution / professional body; role holder may possess further qualifications
