Job Description


Job Responsibilities: Function Leadership

  • Develop and manage overall portfolio roadmap for the SBU including new products, features, enhancements, cost programs, and rationalization / obsolescence programs
  • Develop and/or review development of all initiative charters and program plans then allocate and manage resources to deliver
  • Directly manage Product Management team (3) and supporting stakeholders
  • Report out to management on portfolio and initiative status
Portfolio Management
  • Identify and execute portfolio-enhancing improvement and/or cost-out programs – includes new product development, features, enhancements, and rationalization / obsolescence programs
  • Actively manage the financial success of the portfolio, including Orders growth and Sales margin across all World Areas
  • Conduct voice of customer research, visit customers, and attend industry events to understand competitive threats and unmet customer needs
  • Manage global product certifications
  • Execute annual routine portfolio review to determine opportunities for rationalization and obsolescence of products
Pricing & Configuration
  • Develop and maintain global price lists
  • Develop and maintain global product configuration options
  • Execute annual routine price review to identify price opportunities and execute global and regional strategies
  • Set clear quote / no quote guidelines and ensure PSQ adoption
  • Manage special pricing agreements (SPA) for select opportunities
Product Marketing
  • Develop and maintain product collateral targeted at core industries and applications – content should relate key product features to customer KPIs and/or pains
  • Work with central marketing group to support online content and campaigns
Support & Reporting
  • Support internal and customer requests as required
  • Support and/or provide product training to customers and Emerson stakeholders
  • Manage Delegation of Authority (DOA) with world areas
  • Develop and communicate product reports as required
Job Requirements:
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Engineer, STEM, or Business required; MBA strongly desirable but not required.
  • Background: 8 years or more of relevant experience (including minimum 2 years of product management) at product company or heavy industry operator required; additional relevant experience include engineering, technical sales, operations, supply chain, systems / IT
  • KPIs: global annual bookings, sales, and gross margin of portfolio; execution of designated strategic programs; team management and performance
  • Location: Singapore (Preferred) or Houston, USA
  • Core tasks span the categories of Function Leadership, Portfolio Management (including product development), Pricing & Configuration, Product Marketing, and Support & Reporting.
