Reports to: Senior Engineer / Associate

We are looking for a Graduate Structural Engineer to join our growing team in Singapore.

You will assist in the delivery of projects by taking responsibility for specific areas of the design development, ensuring a good standard of engineering in accordance with Bryden Wood standards and procedures.

Good communication skills and the ability to liaise effectively with all members of the team is essential to assist in the delivery of projects by contributing to specific areas under the guidance of the senior engineering team. Education and experience:

• A four-year university degree majoring in structural engineering

• Previous experience is preferred but not essential
  

Key skills/responsibilities:

• An understanding and experience in producing basic calculations both manually and computerised using the appropriate technical software applications

• Working under the guidance of Senior Engineers to produce Analysis models & Calculations

• Maintain a well-documented project, including calculation files and project correspondence following Bryden Wood standards and procedures

• Advance knowledge and experience through attendance at CPD seminars and other training as deemed necessary.

• To contribute to specifications and reports in order to support Senior Engineers

• Knowledge of engineering forms and precedents including why they were appropriate to the specific situations

• Ability to present clear calculations to justify an engineering proposal and check calculations.

• Basic knowledge of structural analysis software (i.e. Robot, Tekla Structural Designer etc.) is a bonus

• Good attention to detail

• Ability to recognise potential design issues for discussion with Senior Engineering management

• Ability to identify key project issues and propose viable solutions for discussion with senior colleagues

• Demonstrable success in contributing towards the projects you are involved in

• Recognition of limits of own knowledge and when to seek assistance from Senior Engineers.
