Introduction:
Experienced Group Financial Controller needed for growing European lifestyle group Due to continued growth, our client is looking to add a layer of accountability to their accounting offices as they plan to acquire more stores in the future and want to ensure their accounting offices are set up for continued success. It is imperative that the person hired is well-versed in all areas of accounting and has multi-point / multi-franchise experience. This is a hands-on position reporting to board director , you will be responsible to ensure all accounting practices are compliant, accurate, and completed in a timely fashion. Responsible to ensure the financial well-being of the group as a whole The ideal candidate will also be a current CPA.
Responsibilities:
This is a great long-term opportunity for an experienced FC looking to join a stable executive leadership team.
You will be responsible to oversee consolidated accounting offices that each handle multiple locations.
The books are in good shape and there is a good accounting team in place.
It is important you can implement the proper policies and procedures for continued success and accountability & structure the accounting department as they see best fit.
Responsible to oversee all financial statements to ensure they are done accurately and in a timely fashion.
Conduct business performance review and budgeting with the emphasis on bottom line performance.
Provide useful financial insights to help make better decisions about formulating and executing strategy.
Responsible for the Group tax function
Drive strategic value and improve the overall tax efficiency through effective tax compliance, tax planning and tax risk management
Collaborate with country Finance or Tax Head and provide guidance on tax compliance related matters, including tax reporting, tax document management and tax cashflow management
Monitor tax developments and legislative changes, evaluate financial and tax impact on business, recommend solutions and identify tax planning opportunities
Assess and mitigate tax risks. Manage tax disputes and tax audits to achieve best outcome.
Treasury and Cash-flow
Responsible for maximizing the return on the available cash, and minimizing the interest cost
Ensure that there are an effective collection and payment system in the Group.
Maintain an optimal level of liquidity in the business with regular monitoring and planning of cashflow and managing of working capital
Well-versed in the use of hedging tools to minimise group exposure to currency exchange and interest rate risk
Ensure appropriate banking facilities are secured for the whole group to provide for long-term and short-term funding
Build and manage relationships with bankers
Requirements:
What we are looking for:
Qualified Accountant (ACCA/ACA/CIMA)
Proven track record in similar function as Group FC in any industries
Has managed large teams in multiple locations
Ability to communicate clearly with external and internal partners
Logical thinking and meticulous attention to detail
Self-motivated and able to prioritise multiple activities
Able to work in a busy team environment and adhere to strict deadlines
Demonstrated ability to deliver significant organisational change
