Job Description

We are looking for a Site Reliability Engineer specialized in Automation with extensive hands-on experience in Unix platforms, Microsoft Windows Server, IIS, or cloud-based environments. The ideal candidate will have a robust background in Wintel/Linux high availability solutions (clustering) and familiarity with configuration management systems such as SCCM, WSUS, Ansible, Puppet, and Chef. This role requires expertise in automating releases, continuous integration/delivery systems, and relevant infrastructure tools. Additionally, the candidate should demonstrate web development experience and the ability to write APIs, along with proficiency in at least one programming language (Python, PowerShell, Ruby, Java, C++, C#, Go) at an intermediate level. Experience with infrastructure as code using Terraform or CloudFormation is also essential.
Key Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain Unix platforms, Microsoft Windows Server, IIS, or cloud-based orchestration platforms.
• Implement Wintel/Linux high availability solutions, including clustering.
• Utilize configuration management systems such as SCCM, WSUS, Ansible, Puppet, or Chef for effective infrastructure resource management.
• Automate release processes and collaborate with continuous integration/delivery systems and relevant infrastructure tools.
• Develop and maintain infrastructure applications and APIs.
• Write and maintain scripts in at least one of the following languages: Python, PowerShell, Ruby, Java, C++, C#, or Go.
• Implement infrastructure as code using tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Support business continuity, disaster recovery within Infrastructure Services and recommending automation strategies.
• Collaborate with vendors and teams to analyze and implement new tools or technology enhancements that best suit the infrastructure.
• Implement automation plan for infrastructure services.
• Maintain consistency and manageability of existing infrastructure through well-documented standards and procedures.
• Conduct root cause analysis using various tools (e.g., Fishbone and 5 Whys) and provide detailed reports and action plans.
• Lead knowledge sharing initiatives, including technical document creation and internal knowledge sharing sessions.
• Perform in-depth product troubleshooting and remediation as necessary.
• Mentor new engineers and develop intermediate-level competence in support topics.
• Collaborate across teams to address cross-product technical issues.

Qualifications
Qualifications

• Education: Relevant degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Experience:

• Minimum 5 years hands-on experience with Unix platforms, Microsoft Windows Server, IIS, or cloud-based orchestration platforms.
• Experience with infrastructure as code tools (Terraform or CloudFormation).
• Experience with automation tools such as Ansible and integration with Jenkins.
• Certification: Relevant certifications in cloud technologies, automation, or system administration are preferred.
• Knowledge and Skills:

• Strong understanding of Wintel/Linux high availability solutions (clustering).
• Familiarity with configuration management systems (SCCM, WSUS, Ansible, Puppet, Chef).
• Experience in automating releases and working with continuous integration/delivery systems.
• Demonstrable web development experience and ability to write APIs.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language (Python, PowerShell, Ruby, Java, C++, C#, Go) at an intermediate level.
• Excellent teamwork, interpersonal, and communication skills, with a strong sense of responsibility and attention to detail.Ability to perform situational analysis and make informed decisions.

This role does not require shift work, but staff activation may be necessary during incidents.
