No payment will be made for these months Main Tasks and Responsibilities Day to day responsibilities: 1. Day to day care and maintenance of school green spaces (library planter, urban grow towers, Ecogarden, hydroponics system) 2. To provide knowledge input and advice relating to all aspects of the garden including pruning, staking , feeding and spraying. 3. Regularly inspect school green spaces and undertake minor repairs or advising teacher-in-charge 4. Monitor and maintain the health of all the plants in the school green spaces. 5. Deal with pest problems that could damage plants. 6. Trim and fertilize green spaces 7. Mulch, edge and weed gardens Secondary Tasks and Responsibilities P4 Project Work (Urban Farming) in Terms 2, 3 and 4: 8. Assist to prepare materials and equipment for PW EE lessons 9. Assist Project Work teacher in class during the sessions on germination, transplanting and harvesting of vegetables. 10. Help to guide students during 11. Pest management of vegetables - check on the vegetables, spray organic pesticide when necessary 12. Maintain general cleanliness of urban farm - to clear the soil to prevent blockage of the drainage system 13. Monitor and maintain the health of seedlings after the seedlings during germination stage and after student replanted 14. To assist to seed new batch of seeds or top up the grow towers with seedlings if original germination batches are not enough P5 Project Work (Hydroponics) in Terms 2, 3 and 4: 15. Assist to prepare materials and equipment for PW EE lessons 16. Assist Project Work teacher in class during the sessions on germination, transplanting and harvesting of vegetables. 17. Check the germination progress of seeds done by the various classes. 18. Assist to seed new batch for germination if the original germination does not work properly. 19. Top up water/nutrients and check on hydroponics system to ensure running properly 20. Check on plants for pest/fungal infestation and treat appropriately 21. Put ice pack into system to cool system down daily The Personnel shall minimally have the following qualifications, skills and experience: 1) Knowledge of . trimming, tree cutting and pruning . Irrigation and irrigation system management . Application of chemical and organic herbicides, pesticides and fertilizers . Soil management activities . Sowing, cultivation and propagation of plants, trees and shrubs . Cultivating fruit and vegetable plants . the hydroponics system functions Candidate who has experience working with children is preferred Location: Boon Lay Area
