Job Description


Woodlands Health will be Singapore\'s latest Public Healthcare Institution and will provide care to residents in northwest Singapore. Set to open progressively from the end of 2023, the Campus will feature a fully integrated acute and community hospital, specialist outpatient clinics, intermediate and long-term care facilities, and green healing spaces. We will offer a range of acute, sub-acute, rehabilitative and transitional care services, working closely with our partners to provide seamless care within and beyond our Campus. When fully open, WH will operate 1400 beds across 3 care settings.

We are currently looking for a Hand Surgeon to join us on this exciting journey in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive evaluation and surgical treatment for patients with hand and upper extremity conditions.
  • Perform elective hand surgery procedures, including arthroscopy, arthroplasty and reconstructive procedures.
  • Cover emergency hand surgeries as part of call roster, including trauma cases, reconstruction, and microsurgery.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and orthopaedic surgeons to provide holistic patient care.
  • Participate in teaching and training activities for junior medical staff and residents.
  • Contribute to ongoing research and quality improvement initiatives in hand surgery.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with hospital protocols and regulations.
Qualifications:
  • Medical degree from medical schools recognised by the Singapore Medical Council
  • Specialist qualifications in Orthopaedic Surgery or Hand Surgery. Plastic Surgery qualifications can be considered.
  • Minimum of five years of independent practice in hand surgery.
  • Registered or eligible for registration with the Singapore Medical Council.
  • Strong clinical skills and expertise in hand surgery techniques.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to high-quality patient care and safety.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Research and teaching experience preferred but not required.
