Job Description

We are looking for highly motivated individuals to build and develop Singapore's R&D capabilities in manufacturing of biotherapeutic products. You will be involved in key strategic activities at the national level as well as within A*STAR to enhance Singapore's position as biopharmaceutical manufacturing hub. You will play a key role in crafting unique value proposition to companies, identifying new research opportunities to strengthen our research capabilities and develop initiatives and programmes to foster public private partnership. This, in turn, will fuel the biomanufacturing ecosystem and attract private R&D biomedical and manufacturing investments in Singapore.
You will work with the A*STAR research community, universities, industry and public sector agencies to translate research into economic outcomes.
The officer in this role will:

• Provide leadership on research directions and priorities to achieve A*STAR's mission and goals across our research institutes.
• Formulate and execute strategies at A*STAR and national levels to build industry-relevant R&D programmes, capabilities and infrastructure.
• Proactively develop and ensure our scientific capability remains competitive through technology foresighting, roadmapping exercises, and design and evaluation of new R&D programmes.
• Establish and anchor long-term partnerships with A*STAR research community, universities, industry and public sector agencies.
• Ensure good governance and management of public funding and research programmes.

Requirements:

• Degree or postgraduate in Life Sciences, Biomedical Sciences or a related field.
• Minimum of 4 years' working experience in Life Sciences, Pharmaceuticals or Biotech industry, or in a science-based business role.
• Outstanding writing abilities, oral communication and presentation skills with a flair for engaging multiple stakeholders for outcome-driven discussions
• Able to bring fresh insights to complex situations
• Energetic self-starter, able to self-direct and flex between varieties of approaches and projects.
