What the role is:Provide leadership, oversight and management of the Infectious Diseases Research Laboratory (IDRL) You will be working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment that would require the ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders at the same time.What you will be working on:1. Maintain IDRL as a national asset with its vision to be a center of excellence for applied infectious disease research; 2. Manage the operations of IDRL to facilitate - Research conducted for NCID within its campus - Multi-center research collaboration - Industry funded or investigator-initiated clinical trial projects utilizing the facilities; expertise and/or clinical services of NCID - Research training 3. Establish and maintain a bio-repository of valuable laboratory and microbiological specimens with appropriate governance to facilitate laboratory and translational research; 4. Provide research collaborators with the supporting laboratory structure and governance and access to laboratory networks within and outside of Singapore; 5. Oversee the IDRL by establishing laboratory research protocols, procedures, standards and safety compliance; 6. Enhance the profile of the laboratory service locally and abroad to attract more researchers to collaborate with IDRL and NCID; 7. Perform any IDRL tasks as requested by the Head of NCID Research Office, Director of ID Research and Training Office and the Executive Director, NCID.   • MBBS with postgraduate qualification in clinical microbiology, and strong track record in laboratory research and management of clinical diagnostic or research laboratory \xe2\x80\xa2 PhD with strong track record in laboratory research and management of clinical diagnostic or research laboratory Key Competencies Require \xe2\x80\xa2 Thinking Clearly & Making Sound Judgements - Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities to support the crafting of sound policy recommendations; ability to grasp timelines, operating context and ground realities. \xe2\x80\xa2 Learning & Putting Skills into Action - Possesses the drive and curiosity to learn and apply new skills, knowledge and new ways of working. \xe2\x80\xa2 Improving & Innovating - Ability to seek continual improvements, and to innovate and experiment while managing the risks involved. \xe2\x80\xa2 Working Effectively with Stakeholders - Ability to mobilise and rally partners and stakeholders towards a collective purpose. As part of the shortlisting process for this role, candidates may be required to complete a medical declaration and/or undergo further assessment.
