Job Description


Asia CGW Head of Banking and Custody is a director level senior leadership position, in charge of overall strategy, execution, performance management, and product development for Banking and Custody in the region, and responsible for (1) Banking and Custody P&L and (2) Client Assets including Deposit Balance and Asset Under Custody. Key Responsibilities: Strategy & Execution

  • Define and execute Banking and Custody strategy for all business segments / markets in the region.
  • Identifying winning product value propositions, securing and prioritizing necessary investments and tech resources, and driving delivery/implementation.
  • Direct strategic priorities on client asset management, competitive pricing decision and optimal client relationship deepening solutions.
  • Lead teams of regional and local product managers.
Performance Management/Drive Results
  • Perform business reviews with each of the markets in the region to manage/drive business performance.
  • Identifying opportunities and risks and defining/monitoring action plans.
  • Institutionalize KPIs for Banking and Custody products, define the metrics, establish targets and monitor ongoing performance.
  • Drive Regional Tactical Campaigns to capture market opportunities and deepening client relationship.
Build Partnerships to Drive Success
  • Establish strong partnerships to drive results at both market and regional levels.
  • Work with partners both inside Asia CGW such as sales teams, market product teams, Risk and Control, COO, technology and operations, legal and compliance, etc., and also outside of Asia CGW businesses such as treasury, finance, and partners in other businesses and regions.
Balance Sheet and Treasury Management
  • Ensure delivery of key Balance Sheet ratios, such as Deposit-to-Loans, Net Cash Generation, TD/CASA product mix, for all currencies & markets.
  • Provide oversight on treasury\'s hedging process and ensure fair transfer pricing and liquidity premiums across all portfolios across liability and asset products.
  • Drive Balance Sheet optimal actions to create deposit absorption capacity.
Decision Making Authority
  • Act as decision maker with regards to: Client pricing for deposits across the region, ensuring the Deposits Profitability targets are met, but also strategically utilizing deposits pricing to: 1) drive client acquisition/growth in the target segments; 2) drive revenue growth in other lines of businesses (investments, insurance, FX) via subsidized bundles with Time Deposits and 3) ensure the required liquidity to fund assets is in place (currency mix).
  • Decide on exceptional approvals for CPB Banking and Custody clients to drive overall client CNR and relationship
Qualifications:
  • Post Graduate degree from a recognized university, preferably from Banking, Finance, Accountancy or Economics.
  • 15-20 years of experience in banking with relevant experience in Retail Banking, Private Banking and Wealth Management
  • Advanced understanding of product management functions, including product development, profitability management, client preferences, and US and local regulations.
  • Expert knowledge of balance sheet & liquidity management, including local and global regulatory ratios, Interest Rate Risk of the Bank Book, and treasury hedging policies and practices.
  • Strong numerate skills / Advanced analytical skills.
  • Experience advising senior leadership and influencing large teams in matrix environment.
  • Advanced people management skills including need to engage with, and an ability to work with and influence senior stakeholders, including peers, corporate treasury, markets, risk management and country business heads in an effective and collaborative manner.
