  • Accountability to lead and develop the organisation\'s product and merchandising strategy, and the category management team.
  • Involvement in supply chain operations such as procurement, manufacturing as well as enhancing the organisation\'s category portfolio, driving portfolio optimization, product direction, and pricing strategy improvements.

Our Client is a growing establishment in the retail industry with million-dollar revenue worldwide. They have a huge worldwide presence and have significant market share in key global markets, offering a variety of modern furniture to their customers. The company has a vision to combine innovation, knowledge, people and products. With increasing demand and new product introductions, they are currently looking for a Head of Category Management to assist them and contribute in this area.

Description

Reporting directly to the CEO, your main responsibilities include being accountable for leading and developing the organisation\'s product and merchandising strategy, and the category management team. You will also be involved in supply chain operations such as procurement, manufacturing as well as enhancing the organisation\'s category portfolio, driving portfolio optimization, product direction, and pricing strategy improvements. You are expected to have great communication skills to manage both internal and external stakeholders. This is a People Management role with global responsibilities.

Additional responsibilities will include:
  • To develop and implement product development strategies whilst encompassing a holistic approach covering strategic demand planning and supply-side dynamics.
  • Be involved in the entire product lifecycle.
  • To lead and develop a revenue management strategy, with consistent pricing and promotion tactics which support long term profitable growth across global markets.
  • To be updated in the market\'s trends for the category within APAC and US Market to be part of the product strategy.
  • Be the key stakeholder in making sure forecasts are in line with activities such as category product launches, campaigns, and any other demand drivers.
  • To develop Objectives and Key Results for the team\'s success, and to ensure reporting and analytics translates into actionable insights to drive business.
  • Be part of the leadership team to attract, lead, inspire and develop employees, ensuring business continuity and talent growth within the category management function.
Profile

You must have a Degree in Logistics/Supply Chain and a minimum of 10 years experience within the retail industry with exposure in Category Management and buying process. You must possess very strong influencing skills to be able to deliver value and advice to peers and stakeholders. Additionally, you must have analytical skills and data interpretation in order to use these metrics to discover areas of business improvement and drive performance.
