Financial Markets (FM) is the Bank\'s gateway to the professional markets around the world. Our primary function is to service the needs of ING\'s clients with products, services and guidance. FM aims to be a significant player in our market leader and challenger markets, with an additional presence in all the major international markets and specialist expertise in selected emerging markets and products.
Within FM, the Client Solutions Group (CSG) in APAC consists of a set of specialised derivative experts, based in Singapore, Hong Kong, and Sydney. CSG is as product manager and business developer responsible for a set of asset classes within the sales organisation.
CSG will proactively identify new business opportunities by working with FM sales, sector specialists and by visiting clients (together with Sales). All to understand client needs/problems and to develop potential (new) solutions, understanding market developments and changes (via sales, external intelligence, and clients). Promoting relevant opportunities and solutions; responsible to structurally distribute information about trends and themes to salespeople across the FM sales platform. In addition, CSG provides support in executing complex transactions (or takes over the execution in specific cases).

Your role
As APAC Head of Client Solutions Group you are part of the APAC FM Sales Management team. Functionally you will report into the Global Head of CSG. Locally you will report into the APAC head of Corporate Sales and also work closely with the APAC head of Institutional Sales.
You will lead the CSG team to originate, execute and support complex and strategic Financial Market transactions involving derivative products while coordinating business with global CSG counterparts across geographic locations. As APAC Head of CSG you will work closely with FM sales, trading, sectors and capital markets and advisory (GCM, CS&A, Syndications and Corporate Finance) in the region and coordinate business across geographic locations.

Your key responsibilities
You will manage and develop a team of 10 dedicated derivative specialists. Your team continuously identifies, proposes and implements innovative or alternative ideas to improve the customer journey and/or the ING WB value proposition and is pivotal when developing new businesses or thought solutions.

  • Center of expertise: manage a group of FM product experts on non-linear FX and rates, inflation, equity and commodity derivatives to support FM sales and sector teams in deal origination, structuring and execution in order to increase both the corporate and institutional business.
  • Oversee the execution of complex financial transactions, ensuring that they are completed in a timely and efficient manner while meeting client needs and regulatory requirements.
  • Idea generation: lead and coordinate idea generation efforts across different asset classes and work closely with sales and trading colleagues, with a focus on enhancing client conversations on potential FM opportunities
  • Specifically, organize and monitor sale push of full range of CSG products; analyze client needs and advise sales on the most relevant solutions according to client needs; help sales (if needed) to sell solutions by defining the selling points and developing the commercial pitch
  • Set and drive the APAC CSG business plan and roadmap on a regional scale, working closely with relevant stakeholders in all APAC countries (heads of sales and trading)
  • Introduce the roll-out of quantitative elements (or full risk analytics) to demonstrate generally (or on a client specific basis) the hedging strategies\' objectives; visit clients with sales to help pitch the RAs and analyze client feedback
  • Market Intelligence: Have a clear view on the client segments, activity and industry trends to optimize and maximize our revenue generation and client coverage. Conveys market intelligence, relevant regulatory, legal, tax knowledge and issues to internal stakeholders
  • Post-trade coordination: coordinate with support functions and ensures the soundness and accuracy of the post trade process (bookings, documentation, risk consumption, etc.)
  • People management: foster an open culture by driving employee engagement and organizational health, ensuring there is a healthy balance between the wellbeing of business and people
  • Behaviors: be a role model, supporting and fostering a culture of good cooperation between origination sales, global FM sector leads and CSG / trading teams (Triangle approach). Actively promote continuous improvement with respect to The Orange Code, compliance culture and cross functional and geographical collaboration

  • Master\'s degree in economics, financial engineering, and/or CFA or equivalent academics
  • Deep knowledge of and experience in financial markets products (experience of 10 years+)
  • Proven track record in originating, structuring and executing derivatives products and executing HVA complex deals with a strong understanding of the risks related to the underlying products
  • Strong leader and communicator with ability to lead a team of senior product specialists and connect people and business by building bridges with internal FM sales, sector and CMA colleagues, to drive FM cross-buy opportunities.
  • Entrepreneurial and commercial drive; an ambassador for change. Contribute to change initiatives with impact for the overall organization
  • Enabler and innovative problem solver. Eager to learn and share knowledge with colleagues, ready to grow junior staff
  • Able to work independently on various transactions/projects at the same time, often under pressure, and to prioritize resources accordingly
  • Knowledge of the regulatory requirements and governance is a must
  • Demonstrate Orange Code values and behaviors
  • Fluent in English, is articulate and an effective communicator, both written and oral
