Head of Design - Singapore (APAC)

Job description

Ramboll is committed to its Design Excellence and Digitalisation strategy, and we are looking for a Head of Design to strengthen our Design and future Design Studio which drive Digital and Computational as part of our design process. Head of Design is a senior position which involves leadership of design process and teams on client projects, as well as development of future digitalization path for Ramboll APAC. Engagement with dialogues and processes relating to Design Excellence, membership of Ramboll Design Excellence Board, are part of active engagement of this post.

Head of Design is responsible for driving design ethos Strategy within Singapore / APAC to strive for design excellence and computational design process and procedures, across different digital platforms including BIM, standards, tools and guidance.

The position directly reports to Country Market Director, Buildings APAC.

Your responsibilities as Head of Design

Design Excellence Strategy & Planning

• To formulate design guidelines and good practices in line with Ramboll Design Excellence board strategy.
• Drive and apply Ramboll design Ethos, to all projects within Buildings on Civil & Structural discipline.
• Responsible for formulating conceptual designs with designated QP and project teams in line with the design brief and Ramboll design Ethos.
• Responsible for carry out design review and audits sessions for all projects on Civil & Structural discipline.

Digital, Computational & BIM Implementation Support as per of Design process System

• Provide support on the implementation and use of BIM tools and other computational software such as Revit, Autodesk Construction Cloud (BIM 360), Rhino, Grasshopper, Dynamo, Solibri, MagiCAD, Civil 3D, etc

• Advise on best practice in the use of different digital tools
• As part of the overall project audit process manage the implementation of Digital / BIM audits programme.

Feedback & Continuous Improvement

• Manage feedback on opportunities for improvements to the design process & quality and digital, Computations and BIM systems, procedures and guidance as part of a holistic design process .
• Where, opportunities for improvements are highlighted, propose and implement appropriate improvements to the systems, procedures and guidance.
• Ensuring lessons are learnt from project successes as well as project failures and are disseminated throughout the engineering teams.

Manage assessment of existing design and digital skills, develop training and upskilling programme on an ongoing basis.

Qualifications

Your required skills and qualifications

• Min 10 years\' Design Experience on large and complex projects as Design Director / Structural QP who are hand-on structure design and are likeminded professional who embrace challenging and creative design.
• Proficient in design software such as ETABS, SAFE, STADDPro SAP 2000
• Good knowledge on Revit, Autodesk Construction Cloud (BIM 360), Rhino, Grasshopper, Dynamo, etc
• Excellent communication skills.
• A Recognized Degree level qualification in Civil & Structural Engineering
• Professional Engineer in Singapore
