The Head of Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Operations, Asia Pacific (APAC) is a strategic leader responsible for implementing and overseeing comprehensive EHS programs across multiple facilities within the APAC region. This role partners with global and regional leadership to align EHS strategies with business objectives, ensuring compliance with complex regulatory requirements and promoting an atmosphere of safety and environmental stewardship. The Head of EHS Operations leads and mentors regional EHS teams, drives continuous improvement, and represents the company in external engagements with regulatory bodies and industry groups.
Head of Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Operations, APAC Responsibilities
Develop and execute regional EHS strategies that align with the global EHS business goals
Lead and coordinate EHS compliance programs across multiple sites and countries, ensuring consistent application of policies and standards
Manage and develop EHS professionals across regions, fostering leadership, accountability, and professional growth
Collaborate with global EHS leadership and cross-functional teams to drive global initiatives, share best practices, and leverage synergies
Manage compliance with local, national, and international EHS regulations, standards, and permits across all assigned regions
Manage regional EHS budgets and resources to optimize program effectiveness and efficiency
Minimum Qualifications
12+ years of progressive EHS experience with at least 5 years in leadership roles managing multi-site and multi-region operations
Proven track record in developing and implementing regional or global EHS strategies and programs
Knowledge of EHS regulations and standards throughout Asia-Pacific Region, including but not limited to India, China, Singapore, Taiwan, Japan, S. Korea
Demonstrated leadership skills with experience managing wide-ranging teams and influencing executives
Communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
Ability to travel 30%
Preferred Qualifications
Advanced degree or professional certifications (Certified Industrial Hygienist, Certified Safety Professional, Certified Hazardous Materials Manager, etc)
Collaborative leader who builds partnerships across business functions
Proven experience translating complex regulatory and business requirements into actionable EHS programs
