The Head of Finance Pharma, APAC is responsible for providing short- and long-term financial projections and plays a pivotal role in gaining alignment and approval with Divisional Headquarters and the relevant global Finance functions. The position is accountable for processes around planning, tracking and steering the business performance for the Commercial Operations APAC. The role partners with and provides advice to the Head of Commercial Operations APAC, ensures financial oversight, dedicated business analysis and drives decision support on cross-functional topics \xe2\x80\x93 with a mandate to constructively challenge and consult with the Head of Commercial Operations APAC from a financial, strategic and economic perspective. It position holder will also enable the financial business steering, management of P&L and resource allocation in line with strategic objectives and provides a sound and robust basis for planning and decision making including the proposal of appropriate corrective actions in case of deviations. YOUR ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Leads financial steering (projection and tracking of short-/mid-/long-term development and deviations, target setting, resource allocation, risks and opportunities and proactive creation of mitigation plans to ensure sound and sustainable development of financials in line with targets and strategic goals).
Closely partners with the Region Head and his/her cross-regional/-functional leadership team to ensure financial performance according to targets and driving operational and strategic agenda. Keeps good relationship to leadership team members allowing to give them support as well as fair challenges.
Acts as sparring partner by providing insights & challenging the organization through benchmarks, trend analysis, external evaluations.
Leads and develops the regional Finance team in countries and sets clear standards how the business is to be steered and how to best support managers in all areas in sound decision-making.
Identifies improvement opportunities and leads corresponding projects; challenges and supports to drive performance and efficiency increases.
Identifies business and financial risks and supports measures to reduce and mitigate them.
Identifies and develops new Commercial models that optimize the balance between profitable growth, profitability, cash-flow and risk.
Represents PH Finance Commercial Operations Asia Pacific towards interface functions within Bayer group
Leads the PH Finance APAC team across the countries and supports them in their development
Identifies and develops talents for the broader FI community and beyond with a focus on diversity and inclusion.
WHO YOU ARE:
Relevant university degree, professional controlling or accounting qualification or equivalent
At least 15 years of professional experience within the healthcare industry, preferably majority of which are in controlling or related functions
Excellent business / commercial sense; focus on key business priorities and results
Preferably insights in APAC healthcare market, regarding main drivers, trends and competitors as well as regulatory environments
Profound knowledge in finance (budgeting, forecasting, target setting, and management reporting) and international accounting standards
Strong analytical, organizational, and conceptual skills
Experienced in multi-task management, priority setting and ability to work under pressure
Solid people management experience incl. developing talent and motivating and influencing others in a diverse, multi-cultural, cross functional organization.
Solid communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
Strong ability to work cross-culturally and cross-functionally
Team-player, but able to implement with high assertiveness
Languages: English negotiation level, a second language would be an advantage
