About the role

As Head of Innovation, you will lead the Singapore based NPI teams delivering innovative and highly complex technology projects that will bring significant strategic value to the organisation. Working closely with partners and Senior Stakeholders across RDD and beyond, you will create and develop complex and strategically important new technology, product formats and business cases for projects in our portfolio.

You will be accountable for the development of key-to-vision technologies and features on complex projects that drive new Dyson IP and strengthens our portfolio. Leading your project team, you will be empowered as the decision maker to balance technical risks, champion the product vision, drive timely delivery and assume a high degree of strategic accountability throughout.

• Accountable for delivering high strategic value/highly complex projects within NPI to RDD milestones within set timelines, applying a high level of technical rigour
• Lead diverse, multi-disciplined teams to input to and deliver the product vision
• Accountable for the delivery of key pieces of complex technology that help to define the specification of future products
• Demonstrate deep knowledge across a variety of technical areas and provide technical leadership to the team
• Demonstrate a methodical approach in design reviews, balancing design delivery and organisational value creation
• Mentor and inspire the project team towards shared goals, identifying, building and utilising their skills
• Role-model presentation and communication best practice during project reviews
• Manage and influence senior stakeholders throughout the project process
• Define plans, monitor progress and report on technical risks
• Challenge and develop Dyson engineering practices to continuously improve design quality
• Take an active, hands-on role to ensure that all engineering problems are resolved thoroughly
• Lead the collaboration with different teams across multiple geographical locations and time zones

About you

• Extensive experience in Product Innovation & Design and Development
• A strong track record of delivering a large number of highly complex, high strategic value-add projects
• A strong ability to lead, inspire and instil a high-performing culture across multi-functional teams
• Fearless communicator, influencer, decisive mindset and inclusive
• Conversant in different technical disciplines to credibly understand and articulate risks/ benefits throughout the product development journey
• Able to present and communicate complex information simply to a variety of audiences including senior and non-engineering stakeholders
• Commercially minded, financially savvy, able to get best value from the product & business
