Our people represent 90 nationalities and speak 80 languages.Position SummaryResponsible for leading a team of revenue controllers to ensure that the Firm's inventory management across APAC achieves standards that are equivalent to the best in the market and firm-wide expectations with regards to inventory lock-up periods, a smooth billing and collection pattern and ageing of inventory.Our Finance TeamThe Global Finance team is led by the Firm's CFO, Steve Wrede, and is made up of approximately 280 team members around the world. To support the firm's profitable growth, our core functions include billing and collecting Firm invoices, statutory accounting for the Firm and for individual offices, creating and distributing management reports, processing payments to vendors or reimbursements to employees. Together, we work seamlessly across our network of offices and countries where we operate. Ours is a multicultural, diverse and supportive team, where everyone's contribution is welcome and where we share a mutual ambition to achieve our goals and take the Firm from strength to strength.Our team's remit includes partner compensation and the maintenance of partner equity accounts; strategic procurement of vendor services; global tax strategies; inventory management, and finally analysis of the profitability of clients, matters and groups of timekeeper. We work with partners and with other business services groups to establish hourly billing rates as well as client-specific fee arrangements. Our Treasury team is responsible for global cash management, foreign currencies and hedging.In consultation with Firm leaders, we set annual global revenue and expense budgets across regional sections and offices, including legal and business service departments. The team continuously reviews expenditure throughout the year to ensure that the Firm's resources are being used efficiently.Duties and Accountabilities1 Drive the process across the region to ensure timely billings and collections to reduce inventory lockup Target setting and billing/collection drive management Work closely with partners, revenue controllers and local finance managers in the region to deliver results Assist in the onboarding/departure process of partners across Asia-Pacific Develop and implement inventory control procedures and best practices Monitor exposures to clients and recommending appropriate actions Monitor pricing and rates discipline Assist partners/senior associates to manage the matter profitability in the region Support the firm's finance strategy to deliver results globally using the firm wide inventory management system Responsible for the training and development of six revenue controllers in the region (located in Hong Kong, Australia, China, Singapore, Tokyo and Manila)QualificationsExperiences At least 10 years relevant and in depth revenue control experiences in service industry with at least 5 years at managerial level and with Asia-Pacific regional exposure. Experience in law firm is preferred Good understanding of VAT mechanism. Basic understanding of Solicitors Accounts Rules for those with law firm experiences Computer literate including at least an intermediate knowledge of Word and Excel. Experience in using Elite 3E is a plusCapabilities . Excellent interpersonal and team working skills, ability to work effectively at all levels within an organization. . Ability to inspire trust and confidence from internal and external clients, in particular partners . Strong oral and written communication skills. . Demonstrable ability to deal with difficult situations . Self-motivated, highly organized, accurate, with an attention to detail and be able to work with minimal supervision. .
