The Head of Sales is responsible for driving direct and channel/distributor sales into demanding industries such as Oil & Gas, Chemical, Mining etc. Given the lean team, the role will be responsible for strategy, implementation, and business development in APAC.

Client Details

Our client is a leading designer and manufacturer of life-saving products, protecting people from toxic gases. The firm is part of an FTSE 100 conglomerate that has been consistently delivering top-line and bottom-line growth. Due to a recent change in the team, they are looking to hire a Head of Sales, based in Singapore. This is a leadership role and will be hiring and coaching a team of area sales managers and sales support. Besides Singapore, the role manages SEA, Japan, Korea, and Taiwan.

Description

The Head of Sales is responsible for driving direct and channel/distributor sales into demanding industries such as Oil & Gas, Chemical, Mining etc. Given the lean team, the role will be responsible for strategy, implementation, and business development in APAC.

Reporting to the General Manager - APAC, the role is responsible for:

  • Team management - hire and manage area sales managers, sales support.
  • Revenue management - drive revenue growth, lead distribution strategy and products coverage & penetration in Singapore and APAC region. There is a growth expectation of 10-15% in the first year.
  • Channel management - Manage potential conflicts with other sales channels by fostering excellent communication internally and externally, and through strict adherence to rules of engagement.
  • Identify new market segments and lead market research to find new customers.
  • Be the key POC for top stakeholders at local EPCs and service integrators.
  • Provide regular and timely sales forecast, reports and feedback on the sectors to the leadership team.
  • Maintain high integrity through the sales process.
Profile
  • Bachelors\' Degree in mechanical, industrial or a related technical discipline
  • Eight or more years or more in selling gas detection products to heavy industries, with at least three years in an SEA or APAC role.
  • Strong distributor relationships in the region
  • Experience in driving consistent double digital growth and strong knowledge of CRM usage.
  • The role requires frequent overseas travel in Asia - we estimate 50% travel in year one.
  • Strong work ethic, self-motivated and able to work with little supervision.
  • Solid communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to produce well written reports and business plans/proposals.
Job Offer

Our client is a leading manufacturer of gas detection instruments for oxygen, flammable and toxic gas hazards. Fixed gas detectors protect plants; portable gas monitors protect people; and control panels integrate gas detection into engineered fire and gas fixed systems. They smashed their growth projections in 2022 and are looking for an incredible sales leader to drive their growth in 2023 and onwards. The remuneration for this role and benefits, bonuses will be in line with the market and linked to the growth projections for the business from 2023 to 2026. This is a hands-on sales role, with a lean team reporting into it and there is a clear opportunity to grow into a General Manager role in the next 24 months.
