What the role is:

As a Head (Risk Sensemaking Analytics) in HTX, you will lead a team of data scientists to develop suite of inhouse AI models to augment Cognitive workload of Home Team officers, and collaborate with stakeholders to develop data science & AI models to solve MHA\'s operational challenges and support new transformative capabilities. You will implement and deploy solutions best meet users\' requirements, accounting for technological suitability and factors of operational needs and alignment to organisational-level plans and roadmaps. You will be the single contact of point for projects and subject matter experts involving data science and AI techniques and models. #LI-ZL1

What you will be working on:

The job-holder will collaborate with various teams (within HTX and across Home Teams) and is responsible to: \xe2\x80\xa2 Manages the successful investigations, design and development of data science & AI projects. \xe2\x80\xa2 Leads a data science team to work with other stakeholders to identify, scope, develop and implement data science and AI solutions to address users\' needs. \xe2\x80\xa2 Leads a data science team to design and implement workflows for data pre-processing and feature engineering, develop machine learning models, and evaluate techniques and algorithms. \xe2\x80\xa2 Guide/lead on evaluation of analytical output (e.g. model) and regular review of productionized models; refresh/ retire models. \xe2\x80\xa2 Leads the preparation and presentation of analytical insights that effectively describe complex quantitative methods in clear and concise communications to business users and stakeholders. \xe2\x80\xa2 Conducts strategic planning and develop data science & AI capabilities for MHA Work with relevant units to drive the adoption of data science & AI in MHA officers\' daily work. Advise business users on how data science approach can be applied to resolve strategic and operational challenges. \xe2\x80\xa2 To be the single contact of point for projects and subject matter experts involving data science and AI techniques and models. \xe2\x80\xa2 Keep abreast of latest technological advances in data science and AI techniques. The job-holder will be expected to provide proper coaching/guidance of data scientists and ensure all tasks are accomplished within stipulated timeline with high quality. The job-holder will be required to manage and supervise areas such as staff training, competency management and 360 feedback. This is a mid-level management position.

What we are looking for:

• Degree in a quantitative discipline that involves Data Science/Analytics, Statistics, Applied Mathematics &/or Scientific Computing or relevant disciplines. \xe2\x80\xa2 Minimum 5 years of extensive experience leading/managing teams to solve analytical problems using quantitative approaches. \xe2\x80\xa2 Knowledgeable in various areas such as: - Artificial intelligence algorithms - Machine learning and deep learning - Data mining and knowledge discovery - Link analysis - Natural language processing - Automatic Speech Recognition - Geospatial Information System / geospatial analysis - Sensor analytics - Visualisation \xe2\x80\xa2 Experience in deploying data science/AI models in production environments. \xe2\x80\xa2 Experience in coaching and developing data scientists \xe2\x80\xa2 Able to multi-task that include able to lead/oversee multiple projects. \xe2\x80\xa2 Likes technically challenging problems All new hires are appointed on a two-year contract in the first instance and will be assessed and considered for permanent tenure over time, based on performance.
