UWCSEA is seeking Health & Performance Coordinator for its Dover Campus to start in November 2022.
The UWCSEA Health & Performance Coordinator is a key member of the UWCSEA Physical Education & Sports Team, responsible for the design, delivery and monitoring of the student, staff and Community Exercise, Strength and Conditioning Programmes. The Health & Performance Coordinator reports to the Director of Activities & Sports and the Chair of Physical Education to implement, deliver and monitor a progressive, expansive Health & Performance Programme along with associated financial and communication support systems.
Main Responsibilities
Strategic planning of Activities and Physical Education Health & Performance Programme.
Develop and implement a Parent Health Programme
Develop and implement an Athletic Performance Programme. Including athlete data testing systems, strength & conditioning programmes, injury prevention and recovery.
Lead, develop, mentor and manage the team of Health & Performance instructors
Collaborate with and provide support and in service training for: the Physical Education Dept; Aquatic, Tennis, Gymnastics, Basketball & Climbing depts; Community Sports Activities dept; High, Middle and Junior School Competitive Sports Depts; the Parent Association; the Staff Association and; the Boarding House
Develop & coordinate student, target setting and feedback systems and practices
Lead student, staff and parent personal and group Health & Performance sessions
Develop and manage the vision & content of the Health & Performance website
Line Manage the Health & Performance Budget
Implement and monitor policies for access, safe use and monitoring of Health & Performance Centre equipment & resources
Assist teachers, coaches and the P.E & sports assistant team to set and break down facilities & equipment for Days of Sports, local and International sports tournaments.
Person Specifications
Bachelor's Degree ideal, minimum Diploma with additional Strength & Conditioning Qualifications
PGCE desirable
Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in a similar position working in Schools, Colleges, Professional Sports Clubs and/or the Fitness industry.
A strong knowledge of contemporary youth and adult general exercise & fitness, athletic performance, strength & conditioning, injury prevention & rehabilitation practice and the practical ability to run a wide variety of related courses.
A proactive worker who seeks opportunities to improve, solves problems, faces challenge and stretches capabilities.
An enthusiastic team contributor who supports others, promotes new ideas and cooperates across teams.
A customer focussed attitude with an ability to design solutions for a variety of needs.
Personally physically fit and a role model to the Health & Performance Centre users.
Excellent English (written and spoken) and the ability to communicate confidently and respectfully with International School students, parents and staff.
Flexibility to work during weekends and evenings.
