Pay Band: Teacher's Payband (Hourly- Paid) Country/Location: Napier Road, Singapore Department: Teaching Contract Type: Fixed Term Contract - 1 year Closing Date: Sunday, 16th November 2025- 23:59 Malaysia Time (GMT +8) Role Purpose The role is responsible for planning, developing, delivering, and reviewing high-quality written and interpersonal communication skills workshops, both face-to-face and online, to ensure client satisfaction and support the overall business objectives and wider aims of the Professional Skills team in Singapore. Role Accountabilities The role involves planning, preparing, and delivering high-quality professional training programmes that meet diverse customer needs while maintaining the credibility and standards of the British Council's Professional Skills offer. This includes designing learner-centred, interactive workshops, conducting needs analyses, developing or customising content, and providing constructive feedback to participants. The role also requires building strong client relationships, ensuring learning relevance to workplace contexts, and producing reports for continuous improvement. Additionally, the post holder will engage in research, professional development, and project or consultancy work to enhance the Professional Skills portfolio and support the broader business objectives in Singapore. Role specific skills, knowledge and experience The role requires relevant work experience with a proven track record in delivering soft skills and business communication courses to clients across public and private sectors. Candidates should ideally have prior experience working in a business function, preferably in a leadership role such as finance, sales and marketing, or operations, along with experience in developing and delivering online or blended training programmes. Further Information Language: Strong English proficiency is crucial for this role, requiring fluency in both written and spoken communication to effectively navigate British Council systems and international operations. Education: A relevant Master's degree (e.g. MBA) and a certificate-level teaching qualification (e.g. CELTA) or recognised national training qualification (e.g. ACTA/ACLP) are essential. Additional qualifications in developing or delivering blended programmes and a Diploma in Teaching English to Adults are desirable.
