Key Responsibilities
Safety Inspections and Compliance
: Conduct daily/regular site inspections to identify hazards, ensure compliance with WSH regulations, and verify that personal protective equipment (PPE), tools, and work practices meet standards. Rectify issues promptly and follow up on corrective actions.
Risk Assessment and Hazard Management
: Perform risk assessments, develop hazard abatement plans, and implement controls to mitigate occupational health, safety, and environmental risks. Review and approve subcontractor safety plans.
Training and Awareness
: Deliver safety inductions, toolbox meetings (TBMs), and training sessions on topics like fire prevention, emergency response, and pollution control. Promote a safety-first culture through awareness programs.
Documentation and Reporting
: Prepare, maintain, and submit safety-related documents, including incident reports, HSE registers, and permit-to-work (PTW) systems. Investigate accidents, identify root causes, and recommend preventive measures.
Liaison and Coordination
: Collaborate with site supervisors, contractors, clients, and authorities (e.g., MOM) to implement HSE policies. Assist in audits, emergency drills, and environmental protection efforts, such as pollution control in shipyards.
Policy Development
: Develop, review, and update HSE policies, procedures, and systems to align with industry best practices and legal requirements. Ensure ISO compliance where applicable.

Required Qualifications and Skills
Education:
Minimum Diploma in Engineering, Occupational Safety & Health, or related field preferred.
Certifications:
Advanced Certificate in Workplace Safety & Health (WSH) (Level B) - WSH Coordinator Refresher Certificate - Other relevant MOM-approved courses (e.g., Risk Management, Occupational First Aid).
Experience:
3years in HSE/safety coordination, preferably in process and/or pharmaceutical industries.
Skills:
Strong knowledge of WSH Act and MOM regulations - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for training and liaison - Meticulous attention to detail and proactive problem-solving - Proficiency in MS Office (e.g., for reporting) - Ability to work in fast-paced, site environments (may require shift work or own transport).
