Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP)





We are seeking a dynamic and experienced HR Business Partner to support IHI Asia Pacific in aligning people strategies with business objectives. This role requires strong cross-cultural capabilities, stakeholder management, and the ability to work closely with both our regional offices and global headquarters in Japan.





Key Responsibilities and / Specification:



Partner with Business Development leaders and it regions to develop and implement HR strategies that support business growth, organizational culture, and workforce effectiveness across APAC, USA, and European offices. Act as the primary liaison between IHI Asia Pacific and the Business Development Division (BDD) at IHI Headquarters in Japan, ensuring seamless communication, alignment of initiatives, and execution of global projects. Provide advisory support to leaders and employees on talent management, performance development, employee engagement, and organizational change. Partner on workforce planning international mobility, and capability building initiatives to support the growth of IHI Asia Pacific & it Business development subsidiaries Drive HR compliance with local Singapore employment regulations in alignment with MOM, FCF, and TAFEP guidelines. Manage cross-border assignments and support expatriate staff, including matters related to relocation, cultural integration, and mobility policies Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion in all HR initiatives to build a collaborative and respectful workplace. To be part of Global HR team to communicate between APAC, Japan and Global(USA & Europe) Manage cross-cultural communication and navigate international business contexts. Assist in communication efforts during organizational changes, ensuring employees are informed and engaged. Support recruitment activities and coordinate hiring efforts, including job postings, resume screening, and scheduling interviews. Oversee expatriate compensation and benefits administration (including housing, cost-of-living adjustments, and tax equalization) for expats going to or coming from Japan, involving documents and forms primarily in the Japanese language. Ensure a smooth onboarding process by preparing materials, scheduling orientations, and facilitating introductions for new hires. Provide administrative support in addressing employee concerns, inquiries, or grievances under the guidance of HR Manager. Assist in documenting and tracking employee issues, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with company policies & APAC regions policy Be familiar with facilitate performance review (MBO) cycles by organizing timelines, distributing forms, and tracking completion for APAC BD regions Assist with processing and maintaining payroll records to facilitate timely and compliant payment. Assist in identifying training needs and coordinating development programs to enhance employee skills for APAC region Maintain accurate employee records in the HRIS system(I-Career) Track participation and gather feedback to assess the effectiveness of training programs.



Preferred Skills



Professional fluency in both spoken and written Business Japanese (equivalent to JLPT N1) is essential and highly preferred in order to (i) liaise with the Japan Headquarters Business Development Division on complex HR and strategic initiatives and (ii) assist with processing and filing documents for APAC expats headed to IHI HQ in Japan and Japanese expats coming to the APAC offices. Ability and willingness to undertake (i) international mobility assignments and (ii) frequent and long-term overseas business trips, as required. Demonstrated experience living or working in multiple countries, with a proven ability to engage effectively with employees by appreciating and adapting to diverse cultural backgrounds Team player with a collaborative mindset. Eager to learn and take initiative in a fast-paced environment. Adaptable and open to feedback for continuous improvement.



Qualification/Experiences



Bachelor's degree in human resources management, Business Administration, or related field. Minimum 1-2 years of HR experience in multi-national companies, with exposure to managing stakeholders across different jurisdictions such as APAC, USA, or Europe. Demonstrated experience as a HR Business Partner with strong business acumen and track record in supporting senior leadership teams Strong knowledge of Singapore's employment regulations and basic understanding of HR principles and best practices. * Strong organizational and time management skills with attention to detail
