You will join our Impact Assessment department

The Senior Managing Consultant is able to apply significant professional consulting experience, operating predominantly within challenging consulting environments to lead multidisciplinary teams based on an understanding of business needs, challenges, opportunities and the marketplace.

The Senior Managing Consultant guides decision-making for complex client issues, applies appropriate capabilities to solve problems and responds to client needs utilising high-level internal and external communication skills.

In this role we expect that you will work with the Impact Assessment (IA) Spearhead teams in Asia to further client relationships and build impact assessment capability within the spearhead. The role will provide direct leadership to the Singapore IA team and will work collaboratively with the IA teams in Asia to provide direction and coordination for the IA strategy in the region. The role will also collaborate with other Ramboll departments and business units to assist with technical capability and leverage our global capabilities to expand services to our clients and expand our client base. The core IA services that will be supported by the position include:

  • Developing and expanding our domestic IA capabilities and clients in Asia with a focus on sectors aligned with Ramboll\'s sustainability strategy, especially the growing renewable energy sector.
  • Leverage our global and regional relationships with sustainable financing institutions and banks (e.g., Equator Principle Financial Institutions) to grow our independent environmental and social due diligence and monitoring services to lenders and export credit agencies.
  • Develop capability and clients for international IA services which apply global standards for major projects seeking sustainable financing in Asia (Environmental and Social Impact Assessments, Climate Change Risk Assessments, Human Rights Risk Assessments etc.).
  • Advises clients on the environmental and social aspects of permitting/approvals, project financing and compliance/risk management requirements of major projects throughout the region.
Your key tasks and responsibilities will be:

BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT
  • Manages proposal preparation and has track record of writing successful proposals.
  • Participates actively in client discussions; takes client calls; has pool of own clients with demonstrated capability to generate repeat business from them.
  • Assists in identifying and pursuing business development opportunities.
  • Drive strategy processes and annual business development process.
TECHNICAL LEADERSHIP
  • Designs and completely executes large, high-complexity projects.
  • Conducts independent technical analyses and directs technical analyses of others.
  • Known contributor to the advancement of their specialty discipline(s).
  • Significant depth of experience in developing innovative approaches to solving complex project problems.
  • Prepares documentation of technical analyses and research.
PROJECT/PEOPLE MANAGEMENT
  • Manages several large, complex projects often with substantial staff involvement.
  • Leverages time effectively.
  • Develops project budgets and manages independently.
  • Will assume a lead role in management of practice area.
  • Will serve as a group leader, leading and managing a team to deliver services in the specialist area.
  • Conducts end-of-assignment evaluations.
  • Participates in performance evaluations, including salary review and administration.
  • Participates in hiring and termination decisions

CLIENT SERVICES
  • Prepares documentation of technical analyses and research.
  • Independently prepares final work products; routinely reviews work products of others.
  • May assist in preparation of papers and their presentation at technical meetings; may prepare and present papers independently.
  • Produces final versions of client communications.
  • Frequently leads client discussions and can handle client meetings independently.
  • Participates in seminar presentations to staff; occasionally participates in seminars and workshops for professional organizations.
  • May assist in writing and may independently write papers for publication.
  • Demonstrates ability to present complex technical concepts effectively both orally and in writing so clients, regulatory agencies and legal groups can easily comprehend them.

  • Bachelor\'s degree in a relevant engineering discipline (civil, environmental, chemical) or relevant science discipline (environmental science, geology, chemistry, physics, toxicology or biology) and 10+ years of qualifying experience.
  • Associate\'s degree in science, math, architecture, computing, technical drafting or other relevant technical curriculum, and 12+ years of qualifying engineering experience working in the engineering/design field.
  • Professional certification or licensure within their primary state of residence/operation or professional
  • certification of other disciplines if available and relevant to job function.
