The Role Responsibilities
Business Analytics and Insights (BA&I) is a division within the IBOR transition programme that holds the responsibility to source, validate and provide insights to the Senior Management and enable Regional Representatives (RRs) and Relationship Managers (RMs) to record track remediation progress of all IBOR-related contracts. There are several tools leveraged by the team to gather data, present and report on a periodic manner and requires close collaboration with various technology teams to meet the bank’s regulatory commitments for IBOR. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring data accuracy within the platform with respect to IBOR transition relevant data points for accurate regulatory and internal reporting. Key Responsibilities: Data Strategy, Architecture and Transformation

  • Liaise with various business teams such as Financial Markets, Treasury, Lending and Wealth & Retail Banking to source data in weekly, monthly and quarterly fashion.
  • Manage and engage key stakeholders across divisions on MI requests around the IBOR transition project
  • Perform periodic data quality checks with business ensuring data accuracy.
  • Applies data cleansing strategies to enrich the source data for a better analytics and insight for the business and client outreach using analytics tools such as ActivePivot, MicroStrategy and proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R & SQL.
  • Collaborates with data and business workstreams to derive the data strategy roadmap.
  • Defines data requirements and performs data inventory analysis to qualify right data sources and attributes
  • Define and propose the technology roadmap and ensure deliveries are lined up as per IBOR programme requirements.
  • Reporting using relevant and strategic tools for PRA, MAS, HKMA on a periodic basis.
  • Escalate in timely fashion to remove roadblocks and ensure delivery as per the agreed timelines.
Risk Management:
  • Keeping track of emerging regulatory expectations in terms of IBOR transition and evaluate the present state of infrastructure and processes of the organisation against this. Data Strategy, Architecture and Transformation to derive the data strategy roadmap.
  • Defining data requirements and performing data inventory analysis to qualify risk issues in data sources and attribute, raising the risk in the appropriate forums for tracking.
  • Assess and evaluate the risks that are related to the project delivery and update the stakeholders with appropriate remediation and mitigation approach.
  • Review the technical solutions and deliverables with architects and key technology stakeholders and ensure that the deliverables are adhering to the risk governance rule.
Governance:
  • Responsible for delivering ‘effective governance’ within the deliverables and possessing the ability to constructively challenge relevant stakeholders and teams effectively.
  • Coordinate with Business and Functional leads and update the programme central team on any key issues and risks.
  • Ensure information is correctly communicated and where necessary, issues are escalated to management in a timely manner.
  • Share ideas and best practice information with colleagues. Thinks beyond current boundaries of the role and contributes ideas.
  • Adherence to policies and control standards, ensuring compliance and operation within risk tolerance and risk appetite.
  • Maintain awareness and understanding of the regulatory framework in which the Bank operates, and the regulatory requirements and expectations relevant to the role.

  • Executive and Program Director or the IBOR transition team.
  • Technology counterparts within Enterprise Data and Data Analytics.
  • IBOR Regional Leads / Relationship Managers.
  • GB/CB/Lending/CF/Loan Syndication/Agency Business/FM Stream Leads.
  • Group and Country Business Heads, COOs, and their representatives.
  • IBOR Project Managers supporting the workstreams.
  • Functions stakeholders – Legal, Compliance, Operational Risk. Finance, IMO, GLS.

Our Ideal Candidate
  • Demonstrates proficiency in scripting with either R or Python, MS Excel and SQL.
  • Knowledge of Interest Rate Derivatives and Lending Products.
  • Exhibits efficiency and comfort with large and varied datasets.
  • Ensures data and reporting needs are well understood and delivered promptly
  • Supports the Business Analytics and Insights workstream activities and ensuring required datasets are business-ready
  • Decent understanding of banking products and global interest rates
  • Raises awareness and understanding of data best practices (within/beyond the bank)
  • Maintains a balanced approach in data provisioning and enhancement that aims to maximise ROI, minimize rework, and ensure solutions are built for the long term
  • 6 plus years of relevant experience in Banking domain
