About the job
Reporting to the Checkout Manager, together with your team of co-workers, you ensure an easy-buying experience for IKEA customers in a high volume and fast paced environment throughout the complete payment process by ensuring the check-out service is efficient for the customer and ensuring payments are handled in a reliable, accurate and friendly way.
Your assignment

  • You ensure the checkout areas are efficiently equipped and co-workers are available to help customers throughout the day.
  • You are available to support the check-out co-workers if they are unable to resolve customer\'s issues by dealing with the issues positively
  • You ensure accuracy of the Store\xe2\x80\x99s daily monies collection, bank deposits and accuracy of the cash transaction records
  • You are responsible and accountable for daily basic operational needs and ensure proper maintenance of internal document for audit purpose
  • You will investigate conduct inquiry or follow-up of discrepancy
  • You will provide training and support the checkout manager to develop the co-workers\xe2\x80\x99 career development by having regular one-one sessions and conduct performance appraisal.
  • You will support the check-out manager in work scheduling and timecard management of the co-workers
  • Following up on the department action plan and taking action to ensure we are continually focus on achieving the agreed goals and compliance to the internal processes.
  • Ensuring IKEA store is a safe and secure environment at all times for visitors and co-workers

Qualification
  • You have a least 3 years of supervisory experience in fast-paced cashiering operations industry, prefer in a huge retail or mega mart store
  • You are customer-service oriented, possess strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • You are analytical and a problem solver
  • You are meticulous with an eye for details and strong follow-up skills
  • You possess strong leadership skill with proven ability to lead a big team of co-workers
  • You are hands on and physically fit to with-stand pro-long hours of standing and handle heavy merchandise
  • You can commit working on AM/PM shift, including both weekends and public holidays
