Responsible for ensuring legal compliance, administration, and control for government requirements relative to import operations.
Overall responsible for the interaction with Suppliers with regard to Purchase Order Issuance & Confirmation and Logistics Partners for the shipment once Purchase Orders are ready for import.
Liaise with suppliers, forwarders, shipping lines, brokers, and nominated bank/s on a daily basis to ensure required documentation is in place and fully compliant for the import and shipments clearance & releasing requirements.
Ensure accurate classification of goods with proper alignment with supplier and broker.
Support and adhere to new policies and implementations of governing agencies.
Anticipate, identify and resolve problems that could delay the release of import shipments by ensuring all customs requirements are adhered to.
Participate in continuous improvement and productivity initiatives
Coordinate shipments and tracking of orders.
Responsible for maintaining and obtaining shipment status and provides updates to key personnel.
Check invoices and billings vs rates quoted
Qualifications:
Candidates must possess at least a Bachelor's Degree in Customs Administration, or any related courses.
Knowledgeable in Airfreight operations.
At least 1-2 years experience in the related field.
