Job Description


Responsible and accountable for the planning and execution of all Import & Export activities for assigned studies. Reviews various documents, applies for import licenses and follows up on the interim process by confirming receipt of inbound and outbound shipments. Responsible for coordination of the Import & Export process for an average of 3-8 studies.

This position primarily ensures the day to day operations and management of the local/in country clinical supply activities in accordance with all contracted services, applicable regulatory requirements and laws, and sponsor/PPD policies and procedures.


  • Ensures all activities are executed in compliance with company good practices
and client requirements.
  • Completes ongoing training on new import/export regulations concerning all
clinical supplies.
  • Participates in and supports department project teams.
  • May coordinate or serve as a liason cross-functionally.
  • Executes import & export activities according to PPD requirements, Client
requirements and applicable regulations.
  • Executes the Import & Export/ Trade Compliance plan for each project assigned.
  • Meets with the Trade Compliance Manager to discuss import & export issues.
Provides appropriate recommendations and alerts.
  • Participates in ongoing Training on new Regulations concerning Import/Exports
activities.
  • Maintains Import/Export documentation files and updated PPD Owned Metrics

Education and Experience:Bachelor's degree in Administration or equivalent1-3 years experience in foreign trade and logistic activities is essentialKnowledge of both local and global regulations covering all kinds of Import and Export activitiesSpecific Clinical Supply training and courses are essentialFamiliar with clinical supply terminology, practices and principlesKnowledge, Skills and Abilities:Strong knowledge of how to track all the regulatory changes concerning Import and Export activitiesDaily interaction with Vendors: Custom Brokers, International Agent Forwarders (couriers) and DepotsMaintenance of Import and Export Files according to PPD requirements, Client requirements and applicable RegulationsGood awareness of the Clinical Supply Chain process: Imports/Shipping and Delivery/ ExportsFocus on Customer Service aligned with high standards of quality and excellenceStrong organizational skills requiredStrong communication skills both written and verbalGood level of English (verbal and written)Computer skills: working knowledge of Microsoft Project, Excel, and Microsoft Word is requiredPPD is an equal opportunity employer
