Primary Overview:

• This is a position with Abbott Transfusion Medicine (Diagnostics) division which will be responsible for implementation and support of informatics and middleware products and professional services in the highly regulated transfusion market, including blood and plasma processing sites across the Asia Pacific region.
• Apply advanced technical, communication and leadership skills to interact with country level support resources, laboratory staff and IT personnel to implement effective informatics solutions, perform system installations, upgrades and integrations.
• Provide outstanding technical support and consulting services, assisting sales and project teams as required.

Main Responsibilities:

• Serves as the technical and service lead directing and supporting country on-site and remote Laboratory Informatics implementation activities in highly regulated blood and plasma screening laboratories.
• Install and configure software and hardware either onsite or remotely as the situation requires.
• Conduct product training for customers, as well as train local country service personnel on informatics products, effective system implementation and support processes and tools.
• Integrate with laboratory\xe2\x80\x99s existing instrumentation, automation and associated hardware/software infrastructure.
• Program, deploy and support custom tailored solutions based on the unique needs and circumstances of each customer.
• Create and maintain accurate quality records relating to professional service hours, system functionality and CAPA.
• Consult with customers to tailor and implement systems to meet their unique needs.
• Effectively troubleshoot and resolve customer issues related to informatics products.
• Develop and publish KPI\xe2\x80\x99s / metrics to drive implement improvement processes.
• Communicate and encourage best practices at the country and area level.
• Play a vital role in supporting the commercial teams as an Informatics subject-matter expert and assist with account closes.
• Take a lead role to develop local country Informatics expertise levels to ensure self-sufficiency in future middleware and automation implementations.

Requirements:

• Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s Degree in Science or IT (Computer Science / Technology). Any additional certification in IT is highly desirable.
• Minimum 8 years of IT implementation and support experience of which at least 3 years in the Healthcare IT field.
• Strong knowledge of general networking, server technologies, IT architecture, internet protocols, and remote connectivity.
• Ability to provide outstanding customer service remotely and in-person.
• Strong familiarity with laboratory workflow and operations.
• Experience with MS scripting and programming languages (Delphi / Pascal)
• Strong command of English, any other Asian languages are a plus
• Strong communications and consultative skills at all levels of an organization.
• Ability and or experience to lead a team of technical specialists.
• Able to travel around APAC region for up to 30% of the time
